I reckon we should impose a new rule on this thread, to make it more helpfull, and to stop all this crap cluttering up

You can only post your team, once the previous team has been given feedback
Would definantly free up alot of shit posts on this thread (and this board in general)

agree with this 100%

Hi folks

Wondering which backline is best (Different players are highlighted):

(1) Enright, Gilbee, Hodge, McPhee, Hurn, Greenwood, Sheppard

or

(2) Enright, Gilbee, Hodge, McPhee, Toovey, Greenwood, Kennelly
or

(3) Enright, Gilbee, Hodge, McPhee, S Selwood, Greenwood, Kenelly

Subs for all three are: Davis/Trengrove (pa)

Appreciate thoughts on Toovey also, as haven't seen him in any sides and he very similar in price to S Selwood.

None. Drop McPhee for Marcus Drum and then nab Kennelly and Shep.

My humblest apologies.

In my attempt to not be shit, I added 300+ words of explanation/justification to my team to give an idea of where my head was at, especially as, from what I can see, my plan of holding two DP players (1 x BC, 1 x CF) in my mids is somewhat unique as opposed to general convention of having these players play in their non-mids positions.

I will try not to be shit in the future.
Pretty sure i wasnt having a go at you

Just some helpfull advice (albeit a little bluntly put)

Regarding that side above

Starting way to many expensive mids for my liking
I would only start two (at most) of Ablett, Swan, Hayes
Playing two rookies in the midfield appears less risky this year, due to rookie depth so young to Bastinac could be a good money saving option, which as you said should be spent on the backline

Lots of risks I know.

Backs. Hodge, Gilbee, Johncock, McPhee, Ellis, S Selwood, H OBrien subs Kennelly, A Moore

Midfielders. J Lewis, C Morton, McLean, Masten, D Martin, A Morabito subs Shuey, Bastinac

Rucks. McIntosh, Warnock, subs Skipper, Lobbe

Forwards. Riewoldt, O'Keefe, Giansiracusa, J Kennedy (wce), Tippett, K Reimers, B Staker subs Yarren, T Dennis-Lane

This will change a million times no doubt. But any feedback right now will be appreciated.

Backs: Goddard, Enright, Carrazzo, Hodge, Kennelly, Broadbent, Ladson (Maguire, Davis)

Mids: Bartel, Selwood, Cooney, Swift, Trengove, Martin (Morabito, Cunnington)

Rucks: Kruezer, Tippett (Lobbe, Warnock)

Forwards: Riewoldt, O'Keefe, Pavlich, Franklin, Gray, Dangerfield, Gumbleton (Tapscott, Dennis-Lane)

$45K in the bank...

Pretty solid, Im liking Pendles and Selwood. Bit fo a gamble with Morton, but I think it could pay off. FWD line looks a little weak, I dont like Williams or Kennedy. Maybe downgrade one of your mids to Trengove or Bastinac and upgrade one. Otherwise good job

Here is mine, I have changed it so many times. I'm tinkering with a bit of a more flexible team...Goddard and Goodes are in the mids to swap for injuries in the back and forward lines...not soo sure on Houli and I know my rucks are a little cheap...thoughts?

This is my first year of playing DT, so be nice :)

M: G Ablett, B Vince, S Pendlebury, P Dangerfield, J Trengove, D Martin (M Barlow, L Shuey)

R: M Kreuzer, K Tippett (R Warnock, M Lobbe)

F: N Riewoldt, A Goodes, C Rioli, M LeCras, R Gray, T Hawkins, J Ziebell (T Dennis-Lane, L Tapscott)

$9000 in the bank still.

Good effort but my thoughts are.
* Goodes has to be in the forward line. Swap him with Gia and then look at someone like a McLean/Ball for the midfield.
* Sheppard and Davis on the field is risky. Downgrade Swift to Trengove (MEL) and then upgrade one of the back bench options to Kennelly.

rucks are fairly weak but i like the punt on mumford
could pay some sweet dividends
houli and mcdonald both gambles but last i heard was houli has been impressing bombers coaching staff
he will score well when he plays
masten should drastically improve this year
not sure on didak
when he gets tagged he scores horribly and has had a few injuries in the last few seasons (not to mention suspensions as well)
warren is a unique pick that should pay off
not a fan of dangerfields dt game but seems pretty popular this year
all your bench options are pretty good
i think you need one more premium in your forward line though
my count for premiums starting in your team is at 10
i think you need one more, if you can two more
otherwise trades will be scarce by the end with all the upgrades youll have to do
although it all depends on how many of your midpricers you think can rise to that keeper status

good team though :thumbsu:

Thanks JD, I think I might swap McPhee for Franklin or someone, but then I lose a little bit of flexibility with the McPhee/Davis Switch. Oh well

Cheers again

Hi Dimitri Mishkin

Overall I like your team - you main weakness seems to be in your rucks. I would suggest the following:
Switch Tippett to the Fwds - for one of Gia (injury prone), McPhee (role uncertain) or Gray (seems over hyped to me - what has he actually done?) and get a premium ruck (Kreuser?) - the choice may come down to who you can afford as your no.1 Ruck. The advantage of this is that if Mumford doesn't work out you can switch Tippett into the Ruck later on (ie. switch with Lobbe).

Cheers

Not a terrible team, however houli, mcdonald are too expensive for there price, there ok for supercoach, never going to be keepers in dt and 300k each is too much to not be a chance of a keeper, you can get someone who will give you about 10-15 pts less for 100k less, like broadbent, malceski ect.

Also mackie and gram dont have any value in there price, there are better options for that amount, duffield or gilbee, or doughty.

Midfield need work, what is the go with masten, im confident if kerr's highest average in his career is barely 90 masten won't be getting anywhere near that. Your looking at about 80 average with masten, whcih is not good enough for a keeper in the midfield and it wont give you much of a price improvement.

Goddard, goodes, selwood are all excellent selections, although goddard may is very expensive for a man with only one injuryless year.

rucks are aweful, get rid of both, you need one of either, sandi, cox or hmac. Then one of the ones youve got, but i'd go Kruzer or jolly.

Forwards: didak, overpriced, never plays a full season, go with okeef or a bulldog. grey is a good selection, so is pav, gia is fine 2. Mcphee might pay off although i doubt it so maybe look at lecras or hawkins in the nab cup. Warren is a good choice if he lives up to expectations, but a lot of roos seem to be killing the pre season so dont expect all to fire.

Overall you have too many players that your hoping to do well or improve.

As a consistant top 500 finisher, I know that the key to success is to pick players who will score around 2000 pts for the season as your premiums and select good low priced first year players that you expect to have to upgrade. Also load up on good forewards and mids, thats where the 150's are. Only joel bowden scored big in defence and his gone so forget about going overkill on the backs.

Good luck

F: N Riewoldt, A Goodes, C Rioli, M LeCras, R Gray, T Hawkins, J Ziebell (T Dennis-Lane, L Tapscott)

$9000 in the bank still.

backs are great - but take ladson out due to injury, replace him with drum or broadbent.

mids, downgrade abblett to bartel - selwood.

rucks - use the money from downgrading ablett to upgrade tippet.

forwards - are fine - i still don't see the hype in le cras, has way too much competition in the mids at WC.

OK so my team, have gone with a couple of unique picks, let me know what you think.

 First person i've seen with Sloane in their team. Good work :thumbsu:

Pretty hard to fault that team - certainly one of the best ones i've seen on here. You obviously know it's risky starting Franklin + rookie in the forwardline but i'll just point it out. Could be a potential donut.. Also being a crows supporter Douglas is not 100% first team material. If i was to name a crows side he wouldn't be playing. Just FYI.

I really like your team, only thing that could come back to bite you is Brown, yeh he got some big bags last year, but will the inclusion of Fev provide him with less ball?

But I guess having Fev could also free him up, so it will be interesting.

Here's mine, I'm kinda stuck as to what changes I can still make before the NAB cup results.

Any tips would be great, thanks.

Any thoughts on my team would be much appreciated. I'm thinking that I am probably lacking a few real real premium players (especially in the fwd line), ie Goddard, Swan, Ablett, Pavlich, Reiwoldt, Sandilands.

Backs: Gram, Hodge, H.Shaw, J.Waite, Grundy, Kennelly, Ladson (Davis, Markovic)

Mids: Bartel, Gibbs, Pendlebury, L.Ball, Trengove, Martin (Morabito, Bastinac)

Rucks: Jolly, Tippett (Skipper, Lobbe)

Fwds: Goodes, Sylvia, Franklin, Rioli, Gray, Ziebell, Wonaemirri (Tapscott, Dennis-Lane)
