WE have a lot of the same players But personally i would stay clear of carrazzo, hille and most of all Medhurst (pre-season reports not good). Hille has had one ok intra club and most of the time the big men take a wee bit longer to get back in the groove.

And trengrove starting but you need to watch NAB Cup for that one. Aprat from that i like you team.

Ok, took the advice I got and came up with this. I still think it needs quite a bit of work but for now, I like it:

Not been keeping up with footy news lately mate?

:5 goals in intra club game if that what your talking, no not missed just not convinced, as I'm not likeing some reports from some places in regards to Medhurts pre-season fitness. But if he rips up a couple of nab cup games i could change my mind :)

what do you think of my team?

I don't see how medhurst is going to improve? Collingwood midfield already has Swan, pendles, ball, obree, didak,leon, beams, sidebottem, daisy..

smal forwards are leon, didak, sometimes daisy and beams..

I just don't see Medhurst getting anywhere close to 2008.

This looks pretty good! I like Mcveigh in the mids actually could be value. Not really anything to change hear.

Any one have thoughts on this?

would agree and i don't think he will that's why i didn't like him in anybody's DT. Also NAB is a lot easier to get cheap possessions, Medhurst does not like getting the hard ball, never has and never will. So yes he wont be in my team unless collingwoods whole forward line getts injuryed and he get above 100 in every nab cup game :)

Man so many of the teams are so similar...
It is what you are going to get on a forum where everyone posts their team. And on Medhurst, I have read nothing but positive news about him over the pre season. Anyway doesn't mean anything until some footy is played.

Great team mate!

Good move having Danger in the midfield as it makes having Higgins less risky!

A couple of things:

1. Very risky starting a rookie in the backline, especially when there is very little depth in that position (as it currently stands). Your rucks are solid, may be take a risk on a midpricer to free up some cash and upgrade one of ur back rookies to someone who is likely to play 22.

2. Ditto re starting a rookie in the forward line, however I think there will be many options for starting a rookie once the NAB cup finishes so you are likely to be able to run this strategy. Keep ur eyes on the NAB.

Good luck!! :footy:

Backs: Fisher Hodge Shaw Newman Mcphee Hurn Ladson (hunt, webberly)
Mids : Selwood Mitchell Cooney Mcveigh Martin Trengrove ( bastanic, banner)
Rucks: Hille Natanui (warnock lobbe)
Fwds : Voldt Brown ROK Buddy Medhurst Dangerfield Burton (Westhoff Dennis lane)

feed back commmets critiscims are all necessary and appreciated

thoughts please
cheers

Obviously have gone with the mid-price strategy, have never gone in with it myself but know a few people who do and it works for them as long as you get some of the early trades correct.

Forwards look fine, I'd strongly consider Hille or Ottens before Seaby. With the rucks at Sydney looking to be shared responsibility, too much uncertainty there for mine however stick with your gut if you think Seaby can pull some good scores in 2010.

Backs just look a little weak for my mind, I would consider trading Watson for one of Trengrove/Martin who I think could both prove to score as mid pricers (avg 75-85). I just don't see any improvement for Watson at all, last year is as good as he is ever going to play IMHO (which he was outstanding). With the money upgrade some backs, I'd consider upgrading Suban and Carlisle who you should get two pretty solid players for. You will have roughly $240, 000 from the Watson--->Martin/Trengrove trade.

Purely suggested trades:

Watson ---> Martin
Suban ---> Ellis
Carlisle ---> Goddard

who in your opinion would be a suitable replacement for headland? or palmer?

For starters, change Scully to Martin from the Tiges.

Masten, Cotchin, McVeigh are all worth looking at around that price, I find that 250-300k to be a little awkward though, you aren't getting premiums and you aren't getting guaranteed money makers. What I would do though is downgrade Rohan on your bench (it isn't worth having 140k on your bench), switch him to Dennis Lane or Podsiadly and then you've got an extra 50k. Then put Morabito down to someone like Banner or Bastinac and make another 50k, otherwise it is just dead money sitting on your bench.

You've just made 100k and you can probably start thinking about getting someone like Cooney.

The other thing you could do, if you want to keep Morabito (which I'm guessing you do), is play Morabito, Martin and Trengove straight up on the field with two 90k players on the bench. With the money made you can upgrade Headland and Medhurst.
It is pretty risky starting 3 rookies, but it has merit. All 3 kids will start round 1 in my opinion and all 3 will improve in cash significantly, but it saves you having to waste money by having one of them sit on the bench.

An other option would be dropping Headland down to someone like Mayne and using that cash to upgrade Palmer.

You've got a bunch of options, so have a think about it.

On Medhurst, he played with a pretty bad ankle injury for the majority of last season. I've got absolutely no doubt he'll increase in value, I'd expect at least an extra 10 points but anywhere up to 20 point increase.

He won't get any midfield minutes, but he never has. He didn't in '08 and he scored quite well, so I wouldn't take that as a deterence. Medhurst will be one of the keys to our forward line as well, especially with Brad Dick injured.
None of Davis, Didak or Thomas spend anywhere near as much time down forward as they once did which makes Medhurst a much bigger target.

He had surgery straight after the season ended and he is moving far better than he was last year culminating in the 5 goals last Friday.

In saying all that, he still isn't in my team. He is a little bit too inconsistent and is very much a confidence player. While I have no doubt he'll improve this year, even with a 20 point improvement he isn't in the top 15 forwards in the league and probably won't see you winning a car anytime soon.
Worth keeping an eye on though.
