i think your team is one of the better ones i'v seen on here
Gia is an interesting choice
not many people going for him this year but apparantly has been killing it on the track since their prelim loss
bit risky going with a rookie in the forward line, but then again so have i :D
good rucks, good bench rucks as well
good mids, not sure how much ward can improve on his average though
no doubt he is going to be a great player, but i cant really see him being a keeper in the mids, be nice for him to prove me wrong though
i like your premium backs but im not so sure about having all three of ladson, waters, and kennelly
never been a huge fan of kennelly
but your back rookies should be fine in covering anyway

overall a very good team mate
and shuey is going to be a gun ;)

Thanks for the input mate :thumbsu:.

This was my first try at making a team and suprisingly i made it on my first shot (managed to make it within the salary cap on my first go hahaha :D).

I am too worried about having kennelly, ladson and waters in my back. Waters is the one who has the biggest question mark over his head. I will watch him closely in the NAB cup.

I like my ruck choices too, because i feel the most popular ruck combo will be Kruzer/Tippet. So i am trying to take a different path, by going with big Sandilands, who i feel will improve this year.

Ward also has a bit of a question mark over his head. He is a little over what i thought he would be, price wise, and i am too sceptical whether or not he can imrpove on his average by much. NAB cup, will help me make my decision. Along with a lot of other players.

Well i said i will wait until it officially opened before i make my team.

This is my first draft, took me about 1 hour and 20 minutes to come up with. It is very likely to change, alot of these picks are going to be based on NAB cub form/role.

Please feel free to critque my first draft.

Backs: Hodge, Enright, Carrazzo (?), Harbrow, Kennelly, Ladson, Waters, (Davis, Maguire)
Mids: Bartel, Pendlebury, Cooney, Dalziel, Ward, Trengrove, (Martin, Shuey)
Rucks: Sandi, Kruzer, ( Lobbe, Trengrove)
Forwards: ROK, Pav, J.Brown, Gia, Ziebell, Dangerfield, Tapscott, (Dennis-Lane, Gumbleton)

Like i said this is my first draft and will most likely change quite abit, pending on NAB cup. But any advice on it would be appreciated! :thumbsu:

Very nice first draft, like the pick of Carrazzo, I should have him in as well NAB Cup pending. Dalziell as well is a good bet given the switch to WC, but again, see how they're going to play him in the NAB.

I reckon what you could do would be to downgrade Ward to someone like Bastinac and start Trengove and Martin, then upgrade Waters in the back to another keeper.

sounds good mate
im hoping waters gets up and running for the season proper, after all he is vice captain so there is no doubt about his starting place in the squad.
i looked at ward during the pre season but i figured i would just make room and pay the extra for a premium
your pick in gia is making me want him, its a pain in the ass trying to figure out how to fit him in but ! :p

Hahaha oh god :p.

The reasons as to why i picked him are simple really:
*He is underpriced. Simple as that. Last year wasn't his best year, he seemed to lack TOG, which hurt his scores badly. He also had a slow start to the year which hindered his overal average.
*He has been absolutely killing it this pre-season, got a PB when coming in 2nd in the time trial. Article in today's paper suggesting he was in the best shape of his career.
*I seriously think he can improve on his average by 10-15ppg.

PS. Please dont get him :p. hahahaha:)

I reckon what you could do would be to downgrade Ward to someone like Bastinac and start Trengove and Martin, then upgrade Waters in the back to another keeper.

Thats exactly what i was thinking as well mate. But at the moment, im going to sit tight and wait for the NAB cup.

Couple of observations:
You've got a lot of money tied up on the bench. eg. I'd downgrade Watts to a rookie (Dennis-Lane, Tapscott etc.) for starters.
I'm not sure having Brown & Fevola in your team will work that well. Can't see Fev scoring as well as last year with less ball going his way.
Defenders look a bit weak on paper. You need at least another proven gun in your backlines. (Goddard, Hargraves, Hodge etc.)
Forwards are stacked. I'd probably look at downgrading Fev to someone cheaper (Ziebell or Dangerfield) and use that money to upgrade your defenders.
My 2 cents anyway :thumbsu:

bit of feed back and help on the team would be good fellas
cheers

- Swap Watts with Tapscott/Trent-Denis-Lane
- Fevola may pay off: but i think is better for SuperCoach
- Murphy is coming back from injury: risky but could pay off
- Williams i would probably swap with Ziebell/Dangerfield: lots more potential and they can make you more money with increase midfield time!
- I don't like Leunberger: just back from injury and will fight for no.1 Ruck
- Kerr: Get him out now!!!!! always suspended and may look tempting because of price but he will be shite like every year
- Mcveigh: injury prone but if scores well can be a decent cash-maker for upgrade
- Your back is extremely poor except for Enright, Kenelly, Sheppard and maybe Drummond (but he always copys the tag so i wouldnt pick him) his better for SuperCoach
- I also wouldnt pick Maguire even though people say his a good cash cow option: he may gets games but as a key CHB if he only scores 30s and 40s, how much money will u make? - better have Phil Davis
- If your looking for a cheap back i would highly recommend Rick Ladson whos gonna be a very good cash-maker

Only my thoughts lol (Y) goodluck.

cheers fellas
good advice
ill put it to good use. with williams ive got him in there because i believe he will be the go to man in the bombers forward line and im hopeing he can repeat a season like he did at the hawks. with dangerfield how is his knee coming along.

Good grief. No offence, but it looks like you've gone out of your way to select the most injury-prone players you can.
