My second attempt at a team, This new season is proving very challenging.

Goddard, Deledio, Gibbs, Broughton, A Otten, M Drum, Ben Jacobs (Toy, Puopolo, Duigan) I'm getting the feeling that I need to reduce the risk, either Otten or Drum out say for Strauss from Melbourne? Ben Jacobs is still undecided, depends how he's travelling with illness.

Swan, A Swallow, T Boak, T Cotchin, R Tambling, D Swallow, (A Gaff, J Polec, D Heppel) I have a huge feeling Tambling fits right into this Crows side, I'm confident he's value for money, will be 100pts. Cotchin/Hill/D Martin, still can't decide. I still feel i'm one superstar away from the mid so far, with 96k left over. But can always do an upgrade later.

Sandilands, Hale, Z Smith, M Gawn

Pavlich, Rioli, Goodes, Giansiracusa, Krakouer, K Tippett, D Petrie (S Day, L Tappscott, J Darling) Still not sure on Tappscott or if Darling will get a game.

How does this team look?

How is Max Gawn going with injury?

Thanks BuffDog. I would have gone for Sandilands but i couldn't fit him into the budget.

I've changed Tarrent for Heppall. I agree the forwardline is open for reviewing.

Backs: swapped Jacobs to Puopolo because of illness, other than that team has been fairly settled for a while.

Mids: Quite happy with it...could possibly justify a 4th premium but Harris will put up good numbers and the mid rookies are so good this year.

Forwards: My area of most concern, as it probably is for most people. Happy with the premiums, albeit Chappy always a hammy risk, Didak off an injury and Franklin belting people. Knights is an injury gamble but the rookies look good.

Rucks: Like most people, not super confident with my ruck bench, would like to have more solid cover.

About 400k left for tinkering.

Very nice Pure_Ownage, i think that team will do well. It's similar-ish to mine. I have a 4th premium mid and an extra rookie in the forward line. To be honest, i wouldn't change too much apart from the rookies once they've had a run in the NAB Cup. EDIT: Just realised you have 400k left over. I suppose if the rookie mids are giving you some doubt you could probably use it to put another premium in there? Also, Drew Petrie could be an option for the ruck bench, i tink he is only 100k more than either of the players you have on your bench, it would still leave you with 300k!

I think your backs have too many mid range players and are missing a gun imo. maybe downgrade Doughty or O'brien and upgrade to a Deledio I do like your rookies throughout the whole team.
I would swap Hannebury for L. Anthony (yes he was injured for much of last season, but has been training well and receives the discount for only playing 7 games) then maybe upgrade Swallow even further.
Rucks look great.
Cant fault your forwards either although I am not a Walker fan.

Just wanted to get feedback on my first crack at a squad for this year - haven't thought much yet about strategy (and not at all about MPP), but just trying to get most of my favourites in there

Obviously the rucks will come in for some criticism, since I don't have Sandi but I want to do something different this year and I think Ryder and NicNat both have really good acoring potential. Bench very weak though if Petrie can't play much.

Backs: Pretty good, but i would steer clear of Gilbert, will play forward as well as back.. Won't score as well.. and Craig Bolton has never been a good scorer. Take Bolton out for Dyson Heppell and save $70K

Mids - Judd has had an injury interrupted pre season, Swan is the best mid, Most teams that will do well will have Goddard, Swan, Chapman and Riewoldt.
If your set on Gilbee, replace him down back for gilbert for around the same price.

Forwards - Davis is a big no.. will nearly struggle to keep his spot in the team this season. Higgins or Brennan are $40K more. But with the money saved you might be able to go a little more expensive and should have your team looking alot more solid. Kosi is another absolute no. Krakour on the ground, Prestia on the bench and you will definately be able to afford another premium forward.

Rucks are fine, expect a big year from cox, fit and ready to go..

Burnt a bit by Bobby Murphy last year with injury or poor form. Would be watching Otten carefully over the preseason, not sold on him. Morton has never been a great scorer and could find it tough for a permanent spot in the Tiggers outfit. Porps has have his injuries too...
