Obviously, every footy show this week is going to be talking about Carlton. And I want to hear every word...
BUT, no matter how positive, no matter how praising, flattering or enthusiastically he speaks, Robbo just sours it for me...

By the way, he "doesn't even know who is flag favouritism...." I think he means "flag favourites".... Just can't cop his stupidity!

So you are saying that the coaching staff and medical staff are playing Weitering whilst they shouldn't.....and you are basing your opinion on two things, firstly your observation about how he is playing and secondly your reference back towards some history of player mismanagement - which teh current regime has some kind of link to...and is therefore likely to make similar errors ( whatever they were) again...

Well I disagree with all your contentions and I think that what you are implying is that the Carlton coaching and medical and player management staff are likely to be, if not already - guilty of thinking short term and placing Weitering at risk.

Dress it up anyway you like - but on face value - that is a pretty harsh and slanderous view to take on how Weitering is being treated dont you think?

BTW your pomposity is only exceeded by your pomposity.

Watched it again
Walker was pretty good, only took him 2 weeks to get his fitness back
Agree, was very pleasing to see him play a relevant part in the win (amongst many others).. With him, sumner, Armfield, everitt, lamb and I guess Gorringe zipping around the forward line with casboult clunking the grabs it makes for a bit of a headache for the opposition. Still doesn't feel like a forward line to get us deep into finals but it's working...kicking at least 5 goals more per game than I anticipate.

Taking nothing away from the mids that hit the scoreboard.

And what a difference kicking straight at goal makes... Seemed like the cats had our yips.

One negative for mine was Walker continuously flying for marks when he already had talls competing for the ball in the air, really need him to stay down at ground level in these situations. Definitely played much better this week though.
Exactly what I was thinking during the game... It wasn't just him either, too many going up and know one staying down for the crumb!!

Some weird coaches votes

How did Dangerfield get a vote?

Well, we can have a go at deconstructing it. Obviously Gibbs got the 5s, and Armfield and Dangerfield the 1s. Interestingly, this means both Cripps and Kreuzer got 3 from one coach and 0 from the other (2 + 1 being impossible because the 1s are already taken). That leaves the three 4s being 4+0, 4+0, and 2+2.

From there, we have to guess. But based on the post-match presser, I'm going to say Kreuzer got the 3 from Bolton, which means Cripps got 3 from Scott. I flat-out can't imagine BB thought Everitt was our second-best, but Scott would have looked at the goal-scorers. Both coaches probably recognised Guthrie as the Cats' best, so he probably got a pair of 2s. Which leaves Docherty with 4 from BB and 0 from Scott .

The 1s? Scott wouldn't know Dennis by name, so I'm guessing he gave his 1 vote to Dangerfield. So:

Bolton: 5 Gibbs, 4 Docherty, 3 Kreuzer, 2 Guthrie, 1 Armfield
Scott: 5 Gibbs, 4 Everitt, 3 Cripps, 2 Guthrie, 1 Dangerfield

Or something like that...

Watching the replay, something that really stands out is how many opposition players we put on the ground.
Every tackle was meant to sit somebody on their arse.
Massive change to the sheepdog approach of previous years.
Tackling with intent, **** yeah !
and extreme prejudice......

Not bad. Pretty close.

I could imagine Scott giving Guthrie 4 though as he is his favourite and both giving Everitt 2 votes each.
