Just watched the game and all I have to add is, how good is it watching the boys doing the 1%.
They now shepherd for each other, create space for each other, run forward together and support, run back and help out and finally apply pressure and tackle together!!!!

Flowering beautiful. It doesn't matter if they the no1 or the no100 pick, play team football and you will flowering always be in the game.......love it and so proud of what I'm seeing. Let's hope this is the start of our club becoming a power house again.

I didn't get to watch the match till late in the afternoon and only listened on the radio up to the third quarter so it was awesome to finally see the boys win against a top team. Loved the whole team and as Bolts mentioned in his presser about bonding and caring for each other and it showed. Also loved the fact that Gibbs busted his guts all day and then puked up after his interview. But the most pleasing aspect for me, is that we kicked straight without a recognisable full forward. I didn't mind that Levi didn't have much of a impact, just having him out on the field was good enough and doing his crash and bash thing. To think, we could have six wins by the end of next weekend.

All I'm saying is that he's looked very tentative in his two games back and he is still clearly favouring his arm. I think given the history we've had in poor injury management we should have used the the weeks up til the bye and the bye itself to make sure Weitering was 100%, the wins (although nice and enjoyable) are not important but Weitering's 10-15 year career with us is.

Ffs why arent the wins important? Thats deplorable thinking on so many levels, none the least club culture. We are digging ourselves out of that thinking, lets not throw ourselves back into it.

Watching the 2nd half replay now (had to leave early yesterday).
Where the **** did this version of Simon White come from?!
I think that he has always been there... and we have seen glimpses of him on occasion... but with the freedom born of playing in a team where everyone is playing for each other, he has really started to play to his strengths.

We are having a lot more shots on goal from in front or on slight angles, unlike the past decade when so many of our marks inside 50 were taken on tight angles.

In the past we have struggled to create space for players to run into in front of goal. With the extra patience being demonstrated when bringing the ball inside 50 & the number of different options being spotted up inside 50, it has become easier to set up gettable shots on goal.

He couldn't even get a fist up to spoil. Hendo is such a pea heart.
Hardly a shock seeing as though he's at his 3rd footy club before the age of 26.

like the man who outmarked him ;)

my favorite part was hendo, often 1 out in the defensive 50 in the last quarter, watching the ball go over his head through the goals a few times.

I think seeing Simon White do things like he did yesterday is the result of seeing the best come out in a player that is playing in a well drilled, understood system with confidence.

We often say many of our players would probably be better players if they were in better teams... well there you go.

Is Kreuzer the most important player on our list??
We had a downer last week and he was missing. Goldy killed us in the ruck.
Kreuzer just leads the way with hardness, and Cripps is his 194cm Robin.
And down back Simpson and Doc lead the way with heroic acts.
But Kreuzer is really important I reckon

Kreuzer is very important. There is no doubt about that.
however lets not discount what Rowe means to our defense and what Casboult means to our forward line.
They may not have the same individual impact that Kreuzer has but they really are important to our structure.

Getting jack of hearing how it was a 'shock' victory, we've been on the up for a month and a half.

This one was a "shock" (or "wonderful surprise", depending on your point of view) so fair call. Who really gave us a chance against the Cats?

What annoyed me was the win against Port being described as a "shock" - we had just won three straight and they were one spot above us on the ladder FFS!

Journos need to justify why they got it wrong - cos they're the experts - and describing it as a "shock" or "upset" is one way of doing that.
Our boys are proving a whole lot of journos wrong this season! :D

And to those muppets in the media who actually tipped us to finish lower than * this year... :p:p:p:p:p:p:p:p:p:p:p

Ummmm, it WAS a shock victory.
We are the reigning spooners who had only beaten a floundering Freo, broken Bombers, pathetic Pies and pretenders Port and then got soundly beaten by the top team who, prior to playing us, had struggled to put a winning score on the board in their three previous wins.
If we win the next couple before the bye, we will be 7-1 over our past 8, but I still wouldn't consider us one of the form teams, or a top 8 potential side. We will have a better understanding in the 6 rounds after the bye. If we come crashing back to earth, so be it. If we start to look competitive and dangerous against the better sides, then we can reassess.
Let's be cautious and realistic.

I think it was white that Guthrie gave the fend off/ push away to early in the game. It was great to see simon do the same twice later in the game. Classic
