I thought Thomas worked as hard as he ever had, albeit for not so many personal points.

Many of our guys can't wait for the bye, would be my guess.

Which is why I can't understand that we rushed Weitering back, he's clearly not right and I'd hate to see us cruel his potential by flogging him to death as we did to Kreuzer in his first couple of years.

Kreuzer played 53 games in his first few seasons and the only thing that broke up that run was him doing his knee.

Yes and hips too, although as I understand this was a pre-existing issue that he had in his TAC days that we knew about and were prepared to take a chance on.
He had an op on the hip not long after he was drafted IIRC

Are you suggesting that Bolton and his staff have risked Weitering knowing that he wasn't right to come back?
or
are you just having two bob each way - speculating that IF Weitering gets injured it will be on the back of being brought back too soon?
or are you merely stating for the record that you hope Weitering doesn't get injured ?

All I'm saying is that he's looked very tentative in his two games back and he is still clearly favouring his arm. I think given the history we've had in poor injury management we should have used the the weeks up til the bye and the bye itself to make sure Weitering was 100%, the wins (although nice and enjoyable) are not important but Weitering's 10-15 year career with us is.

I would have to agree. IMO, he looks like he is really struggling with something. His run is just not there, nor his confidence in the air. I don't think this is form issue, more a physical one.

Nevertheless, it might be just a niggle that the club expects him to play through. We are trying to breed them tough (for the first time in recent memory). If it was potentially career threatening (e.g. bone hotspot ), I am CERTAIN he would not be playing.

So you are saying that the coaching staff and medical staff are playing Weitering whilst they shouldn't.....and you are basing your opinion on two things, firstly your observation about how he is playing and secondly your reference back towards some history of player mismanagement - which teh current regime has some kind of link to...and is therefore likely to make similar errors ( whatever they were) again...

Well I disagree with all your contentions and I think that what you are implying is that the Carlton coaching and medical and player management staff are likely to be, if not already - guilty of thinking short term and placing Weitering at risk.

Dress it up anyway you like - but on face value - that is a pretty harsh and slanderous view to take on how Weitering is being treated dont you think?

Have to say Walker answered a few critics. Very handy contribution. Glad the coaches knew he was worth persevering with.
He was definitely improved, but that was coming from a very low level of play for this year. I would like to see a consistent month before saying he has answered critics.

What a fantastic win. This group just has a never say die attitude under Bolton.

Was a bit worried we would run out of legs when we lost 2 players straight up.... But the guts every single bloke who's when they take the field is a breath of fresh air. Bolton has given them a structure, and self beleif to go with the structure.

Start getting our young talent into the best 22 and Mark my words, Bolton will take us places.

Had a feeling before the start of this game so I took Carlton 1-39 @ $10.... My only regret is that I didn't put more the $20.

Gibbs is in outrageous form. If his name was Selwood/Pendlbery/Fyfe... The bookies and the media would have him as one of the Brownlow favourites. He is being a complete boss out there and absolutely dominating games.

Still at $51 odds for the Brownlow if anyone wants a cheeky dabble. Will already have around 10 Brownlow votes from our wins.
