We had a lot of poor midfielders today, but Dow was easily the worst. And for his own development i think he should be dropped to the 2's.
Bring Lang in.

I thought Fisher was worse, like really really bad game from Zac.
Dow broke through congestion and found space a few times, but some of his defensive running efforts were questionable.

He didn't do anything. The structures were in place for the entirety of the game. Momentum changed with about 5 minutes to go in the first quarter when we should have been 3-4 goals ahead and every time we had an opportunity to grasp it back we undid our good work ourselves.

Arguably the biggest moment was Plowman's error at the stroke of half time which gifted them the lead and they carried the momentum into the start of the second half.

you're wrong. near the end of the first richardson put numbers on the wings. completely shut us down coming out of the defensive 50

Here< I will help you out

Under 50 games = Us 11 Saints 9

23 - 27 year old age bracket = Us 5 Saints 16

Let that sink in
you have players in the reserves and delisted or traded in that range

you can't do that plus point to it as a reason
unless you think that you are not building a list with that in mind until you're losing games

So I agree. It's a very average 1 on 1 defender. As is Marchbank.
Can't agree on the Marchbank call. He is doing pretty well considering the 'defenders' around him he has to help out. Plowman I am 50/50 on, but I think both would benefit from having some assistance from at least 1 KPD with a clue.

You have nothing, perhaps you would have more credibility if you could back up your claims

Yeap time to move on haha
All your argument is based around is the player differential in the 23-27 age group. Our problems run far deeper than that

you can't blame the defenders. the structures are set up so that the ball just whizzes straight back in time after time.

You can see where it changed on the heat maps. Maybe the Saints forced the play out to our right wing but the first quarter was a different story.

We obviously became conservative and predictable.

I think i heard our scoring from turnovers is the worst in the league...and you can really see it.

Even when we intercept in the middle of the ground or in defence, we never seem to be able to arrange a quick counter and quickly move it into our forward line, putting their defence under pressure.

This week for you HBF.

Last week for me.

I wanted so much for him to be the man, but he just isn't.

St Kilda are beneath us talent wise, a sure win turned into a loss.
I said during the week there was no excuses. And I stick by that. We were putrid and out coached.

Finally!!!

So why direct the blame at Bolton if he doesn't have a more mature squad?

But, tell me what you would do?
Well if your happy with that type of effort against a very mediocre opponent whichever way you dress it up good luck to you .
The coach just like any coach must wear some responsibility for poor performances .

I don't. But I'm saying, when they have to defend, there isn't much 'cool head' experience to direct the backline atm. TBH, I hope Docherty doesn't come back as a defender either, I think he's way to good a ball reader and kick, and is needed in the midfield to assist Cripps.

our defenders are good. they get absolutely smashed and keep the opposition reasonable most weeks

What did we make of Kennedy?

Seemed to start well then went unsighted for long periods.

Thought he was okay, jury definitely still out.
blew up before halftime.....
