I'm a bit surprised with the Robbo omission as I thought we were a bit tall last week...amongst other things. From a stats perspective Robbo seems to dominate the magoos but was unable to adjust to the first grade with less time and space, would have thought this might be one for on the job training.

Think Leppa realises that most of the issues last week were between the ears. Would hope if they serve up the same shite this week he wields the axe, but realistically there isn't a ton of changes we can make even if we did want to drop half the side. Having said that, little disappointed neither of Lester/Z'OB are in, but if Beams is close to full fitness he'll add a lot.

Not sure about Freeman but can understand Leppa not wanting to drop him after the one game.

it's like leppitsch is rewarding players after that performance last week

Dropping kids won't make them mentally tougher, and dropping them for their lapse in their team mentality will not help it grow. They're aware of what happened and will need to improve. This is the perfect chance to do so.

Dropping kids will rectify the mistake of playing too many against the Crows. That is if we're keen to give a good crack at winning this week.

Will be interesting to see if Merrett plays back given they are reasonably tall.

Shame Karnezis isn't playing.

When the team was posted via the Brisbane Lions Facebook page a comment was posted about Dayne Beams joining his brother at Brisbane next year which was quickly deleted by the admin.

Does the add fuel to the speculation that Dayne Beams might don the moroon, blue and gold in 2015?

I think the speculation would be the same after that particular event

Here's hoping for a good match with no injuries to either side. Will be good to see the Beams boys run around together. Like a few of you, many of us would have liked to see Karnezis make his seniors debut for Collingwood this week, but hopefully he'll get a chance next year to play in a game against you.

I'd think both teams will be looking to prove some points about their willingness to put in a real effort this week, and both have some good kids, so should be a good game to watch.

Great the Beams family get to see their boys playing each other. Teams always say they lift for games against the pies....under lights at the G, big crowd, great learning opportunity for our boys. Hope they can be competitive and give Rocky a win. Go Lions!

huge test for our midfield. pendlebury, swan, beams and ball - cant get much tougher than that

collingwood look rather strong for a change. best line up i've seen them put out

There'll be a few people sorry that Clinton Young was left out.

Brisbane defenders, mostly.

I dare say there might have been a decent amount of video review during the week. This gives them a chance to make the adjustments to their games.

I think Nick Robertson would've benefited staying in the senior side for this game and until the end of the year more than Freeman will.

I must admit I feel a bit flat after the team selection. It will be hard making my way to the 'G to sit amongst the Filth knowing we are unlikely to be competitive.

Selecting Freeman again is one of the standouts. I mean I hope the kid proves me wrong and plays his lights out, but it does not look like he is close to being ready to playing Seniors. His selection last week seemed weird (given he replaced McGrath and hadn't shown great form in the reserves), and going to the well again (after we were run off our feet last week) seems more so.

I am just not sure how he or the side will gain from it.

Oh well, I guess we can all relax about the result and just watch the kids and see if they can fight it out this week.

I feel exactly the same...no point being upset, but I too feel pretty dejected with what we have and haven't done at the selection table.
