My Prediction

Out:
O'Reilly

In:
Dea

If Dea is not fit, then no change.

If we beat North and WB beat Freo (Etihad), then we come ninth. Hmm, as much as I'd like to win, coming ninth again would be a crushing blow to me. Anyways, if we can lock down on their small guys we have a serious chance. Let's see if Rance can redeem himself on Petrie this week. Wells was also pretty strong last time, so perhaps we could put Houli on him.
Other than that, Jack went rampage last time we versed them and they don't even have Grima. North are also coming off a large 11 goal loss. If we can get on top of them early, we could surely take this one away.

Tigers by 6 goals.

Re: Rd 24 vs North Melbourne

Actually thought O Really did okay today, attacked the ball/contest on more than one occasion. Yes he didn't dominate but not many do in their first game in the big league for a while. Give him next week atleast.

Even Farmer did okay today but if his papers are stamped then I would look at Dea or similar to come in for our last outing for the year:thumbsu:

Re: Rd 24 vs North Melbourne

No change.
Post had a bit of a crappy game giving away 3 goals to his direct opponent. But it's all part of the learning curve

Re: Rd 24 vs North Melbourne

As much as I want to win this game, I don't want to win this game. We don't need to win this game. We already know that we've improved and now that's left is to find another gun midfielder in the draft.

Re: Rd 24 vs North Melbourne

I would have liked to win to finishe nortths season, but as its already finished i will take the win.

Re: Rd 24 vs North Melbourne

Dea for Farmer is the only change I want.

Irish was pretty much as expected. Can't slag a player off until he has played 50 games, and really can't expect too much of him until he has played 20.

He needs as many games as possible. If he hasn't shown anything after 20 games, then we can start to have doubts, but I think he has already shown that won't be an issue.

Yep. Dimma said Dea will be back. Take out Farmer. O'Reilly needs more game time. Malthouse has gone on record many times saying the gap between AFL and VFL is huge and takes a few games to adjust to the pace. Hence why Collingwood rotate players so much to keep 28-30 guys primed for finals.

Out Farmer
In Dea

Would like to see Contin too. Hopefully he gets another year. Could be a neat little depth midfielder. Not expecting a star here just a foot soldier.

Does the bolded part go for Farmer as well?

Re: Rd 24 vs North Melbourne

Nth sitting in 9th, spewing to miss the finals you'd think.
Between them and us is Freo - who are stuffed thanks to being ravaged with injury and still not being able to play well in Melb.
we are 2 points behind and if we can knock off the Rooters, 9th will be ours to claim.

Freo look spent and I cant see them getting up vs Doggies in Melb.

Not bad for a development year!

Last weeks loss will have hurt the Roos who have had the cue taken off em to be put away till next year. A lot will depend on if they want to fight on for 1 last match or if they are dejected, and struggle with not being good enough to make it.

Weve done pretty well in the get games into the kids criteria, and even the likely delistees have shown something, somewhere along the way this year (Taylor excepted)

We are ~1.5% ahead of Melb which equates to ~ a 20pts - so we need to be within 20 points or more of whatever the Ds (probably) beat Power by, tho PP ought be looking to save face in their last, and Ds dont mind not turning up as we know, so....

c'mon boys,

make us proud:

Re: Rd 24 vs North Melbourne

Out: J Riewoldt. He is clearly not fit, he played alright in the 2nd half, but was listless for a large part of the game. I don't see what the value of playing him here is? Maybe give Vickery FF and give another one of our young forwards a go.

In: Perhaps Dea??

Give Webberly a full game. Give Irishman another shot.

Re: Rd 24 vs North Melbourne

We simply must win...I bet a slab of Boags with my mouthy Nth mate on which team will finish higher on the ladder...this game is all about me!

Re: Rd 24 vs North Melbourne

highly doubt jack would sit out

i say no change and actually think 9th would be a great achievement
forget the draft GWS will get the obvious gems

I believe dimma when he says wins are all important. the team can spend the pre season thinking they were one slot away from finals

sure, 9th has been ours a lot in the last decade plus but not the last few years! half the team wasnt there. Ask some of the <24 yrs old if they want to finish 9th or 14th. these guys are proud boys. let me fight it out and feel pumped for 2012. anything less and they will just start planning for careers at other clubs.

wasnt Rance #18?

Yes he was. I think Brad McKenzie sounds the type we will go for. Beautiful kick and will likely be available at 18. We would probably take him at 10/12 anyway. Obviously its just my opinion but if accurate we may as well win. Go Tiges!!! :D

Tips playing North on the weekend!!

I think if we play our current team list for 4 quarters we should win if we reaaly go for it. Dea for Oreilly maybe

If we are going to win( not imply we would tank) we may as well win big ie 70+ points good for 2012 marketing, membership promotions , happy holidays etc...

We can do this as North have a few out and they probably won't be chasing a meaningless game whereas its Lids 150th.

The number one thing to be careful with against North apart from opposition is the umpires. North were not helped much by them on the weekend, maybe HQ preferred St Kilda firing into the finals than a limping North, who knows.

Nevertheless, I am anticipating a recoil being vlads old team as well. If we do not give away more free kicks than North the odds of strategic free kicks against us for North, eg, goal kicking frees etc.. is likely IMO.

So apart from maximum effort the boys must be ultra careful and not give the umpires anything at all, hard but fair and eliminate any creative umpiring if at all possible!!

The other thing is within reason play Martin in forward line as much as possible along with Vick and JR deep from the side. This are our most lethal potent scoring options.

Must be kept fluid so vick into ruck and Martin into midfield must happen at times to freshen look!!

Defense keep it going Rancey leading the way!!

Kick their arses Tigers:):thumbsu:

Re: Tips playing North on the weekend!!

My tip for supporters - get munted, and wave dollar bills at all north supporters. Have a fight, sing the song, and get a root. There it is, i just solved your what to do next week end issues. Anything else?

Well it's Brady Rawlings' final game for one. Anyway now that North are out of finals contention I have no idea how this game will go, although we won a dead rubber against Melbourne same time last year so if that's anything to go by I don't think the club will just give up. Having Ziebell, Greenwood and Wells missing (practically half our midfield) will hurt though.

Winner basically gets 9th spot on the ladder... good luck? I'd rather North not get 9th two years in a row but it's not like Tigers want it either...

Does have its ramifications dosn't it .

Our manhood was seriously challenged 3 weeks ago and you guys are always up for a scrap so im tipping a contest .

Reckon the coaches will experiment though .

Some big coin into the FTF fund should Thursfield bag his first goal so dont be surprised if he lines up out front :p Keep an eye on Sportsbet for the plunge ... cough cough Shaw splutter
