Just finished watching the game and had a moment where I've just suddenly realised how super weird it is that footballers sing the club song after a win.

Think about it.

That's some weird sh*t.

I preferred it when they weren't forced to sing the song. It would only happen when the players felt something special about the win. It's too scripted now, its become a bit meaningless.

it's like when you say a word over and over - it starts to lose its shape - if you think too long about singing the song after a win, it does seem odd........

Do behinds count in the DE stat?

75% avg flatters us.

Allergic to the space between the big two sticks.

Why is it weird? Why have a song? Nothing better than singing the song in the rooms after a great win

The weird thing is they don’t sing it they speak it loudly ide love to here an Irish or English or African team sing actually sing our song none of the teams sing there songs

The win we needed. 2-2 with percentage over 100. Couldn’t fall to 1-3 and we didn’t.
Wasn’t pretty but take the 4 points and move on.
Backline was strong - Weiters, SPS, Doc and Saad all very good
Ed was great
Eddie and Murph made strong contributions
Dow and Setters need a spell. Dow can’t find the ball. Setters 0 tackles playing around the ball. No intensity. Replace with Williams and Kennedy
Hope JSOS’s shoulder isn’t too bad - we need him
On to Port next week

Lukosius must have been wondering why he was our training dummy for the night. I think half the side smashed him.
If he is wondering his coaches he to tell him it is because he is viewed as soft. As a junior he used to double grab his marks when receiving body contact.

Needs to toughen up. Boys like Parks and Cotter’s who have had to fight for their dreams will go straight through him. That tackle was awesome.

Definetly games when I didn't fell like singing it but others got a kick out of it, including supporters so it has its merits.

we lose by plenty without our backline standing up tonight
Suns not being able to move the ball fluently a big reason. We criticise the mids when the pies flog the backs, give credit to the team defence tonight.

One of the least satisfying wins I have ever seen.

I guess the bright side is in years gone by we play ugly, terrible footy.... We lose by 10 goals.

Tonight we play ugly, terrible footy.... We get the four points.

That's progress, I guess......?

The gap narrows between huge talent and huge desire 👍

Brisbane are mediocre. Their ageing midfield has been found out.
Perhaps so but we aren't setting the world on fire, our wins are against likely bottom 4 sides in feel and gc, hawks and north to round it out.

Swans beating Richmond makes it hard to get a good read on where everyone is at but we are only 2-2 playing 4 teams beneath us on the ladder

Well I spent four quarters watching and hoping that a game of footy would emerge from the rubble.

I’m nonplussed that the AFL continue to fixture these games in conditions not suitable for skilled footy. Maybe there’s some hope that this is an advantage to the home team which, for most of the game, play that pointless possession footy.

Most of our good players were in the back half of the ground. There were solid performers in and around the ball but nobody took the game to the level we saw against Fremantle. The team carried the likes of McKay, Casboult, Silvagni, Dow, Setterfield and Parks tonight.

I’ll take the win but I’m a bit underwhelmed by what I saw tonight.
