I'll need to see Maddie's hit again, but on initial viewing I thought it was more of a glancing blow than the one Ivey copped.
There's footage in the highlights package on the GFC website.
When you see how Jordan gets up compared to the Blues girl, you can see why he graded it medium.
Unfortunate, because neither were malicious.
Wow, O'Connor's was a ripper though!

The AFL need a different method of penalty for the aflw. Id like them to look at in game penalties ... in such short season 2 games fora sling tackle (Rocky) and now two game for OConnor ... its important that all teams have as many of their best players as often as possible.. and in game penalties may actually be fairer for the team that has been affected. If the OConnor hit had put that gilr out for the rest of the game.. how is it fair that its the team we play next week that gets an advantage.

Yep. Doesn't help the game.

AFLW team of the week, Round 4:

The team, brought to you by AccorHotels, is selected to mirror the All Australian side: five defenders, six midfielders (including a ruck), five forwards and five interchange players.

Like the All Australian team, it has players selected in general categories, rather than in traditional positions. The 16-a-side set-up often means teams play with varying configurations, making set selections (e.g wings and flanks) difficult.
Defenders: Jess Duffin (North Melbourne), Amanda Farrugia (Greater Western Sydney), Kerryn Harrington (Carlton), Kate Lutkins (Brisbane), Maddy McMahon (Geelong)

McMahon's confidence has risen by the week – she reads the ball well and knows when to leave her opponent. She also received eight votes in the AFLCA coaches' award.

Forwards: Kate McCarthy (Brisbane), Phoebe McWilliams (Geelong), Aliesha Newman (Melbourne), Cora Staunton (Greater Western Sydney), Stevie-Lee Thompson (Adelaide)

Key forwards McWilliams (10 disposals, six marks, three tackles and a goal) and Staunton (14 disposals, three marks, six tackles and a goal) were also valuable.

We now have McDonald (3) & McWilliams (2) as receiving multiple team of the week selections - I wonder if someone let the Fox Sports "journo" know that his nomination for the most dangerous forward from the Geelong vs Carlton match didn't even make the bench in team of the week, so maybe not so dangerous after all

Someone at Fox Footy has a sense of humour - the newest edition to the weekly recognitions, sure to be as sort after as goal of the week.

The first winner of "Miss of the Week" is...
