Funny what happens when you play with a coachable game plan and have the right team selected on the day, isn't it?

Great 4 Qt effort
Just rewards for the players

SPS and Cripps were putting on a show
Harry was clunking them
Kreuzer was just the presence we needed
Liked the roll that Gibbons played up and around the ball, loved Fisher in the guts and up forward

Can’t name them all so well done Boys
da da da da
We are the Navy Blues ....

JSOS was fantastic. Took his VFL form into the game. Cas would be an elite forward if he didn’t make basic errors, still good on him for the 3 he kicked and the marks he did take.

Polson and LOB (sorry Soapy) need a spell in the VFL. Polson was barely sighted for four quarters - though he did produce two magnificent tackles and LOB looks frightened and unsure of himself. Thankfully we have some decent depth to replace them such as Kennedy and Willo.

Overall though that was a four quarter, team effort. Our defence has been wonderful all year, it was our mids who needed to stand up around Crippa and by golly gosh did they ever. Not just SPS but also Fish.

As for Harry Mac... Wow.

Yep both Cas and McKay could easily have had big bags of 5!

Cas was very impressive and kicked 2 bombs from outside 50m...unfortunately a few dropped marks stopped him from having an A grade game.
Still, was a good game and i'd keep him in and play Charlie in the VFL next week if it was up to me.

So...

I had to work late last night, hence the lad and I could only get up for the last qtr. Twas a vey welcome surprise to wake up at 3QT and see us four goals up.

A few squeaky bum moments early on, but in the end, never in doubt.

Anyways, with about a minute to go my son did a massive shit (his first for four days) but I thought nope...we'll watch his first win together before I change him...it's one minute...what could possibly go wrong?

From him sitting upright on my knee, me bouncing him a bit and lifting his arms up to cheer on the boys, the shit ended up covering pretty much his entire back. We instigated the Poonami Protocol, of course, but when I was holding him up so that Mrs SBYM could hose the major bits off, he pissed all over me.

What this means I don't know, however, Leo and I welcomed his first Carlton win with a bang.

Ps. I have pics of the above if anyone is interested.

Pps. Pun intended.

Ppps. I think a thread title change is in order...

Great wandering in here

Essence of liniment, whiff of grippo, tang of sweat laden strapping, aura of victory, wonderful accompaniment to my cognac and cigar, yet minus the cologne stench le detractor.

The sentiment prior to the game:
  • Won't win a game with Levi and Polson
  • Levi can't kick, can't wait for him to be gone
  • We will be 0 - 22
  • Bolton can't coach, will be sacked, has not got a workable gameplan, I feel for the indoctrination of our youth
Well, just goes to show that when you are as competitive as we have been this year, when things click we can match it with any side. Yes we kicked straight and they didn't, but we have been on the other end of similar outcomes this year. We will continue to be inconsistent for the next 18 months, but the start of this year was ground zero and will will start to trend up.

Can't wait to dissect the game, players, Bolton, gameplan and tactics
For now, back to this cognac

Walsh - 26 touches, 4 tackles, 92% DE, 21 pressure acts, kicked the goal that took us above 100

Oh and ran a lazy 15.9 kms (0.8km more than the next best)

Still on track for all-Australian squad:thumbsu:
Has anyone won the Rising Star and the Brownlow in the one year?

McGovern for Charlie. That’s just simple.

Height won out. Watch The Dogs put under the spotlight, for fielding a midget team today.

Great stuff by The Blues today and we didn't have even one goal-less quarter. Not one.

Going to be a lot of talk around McKay from here on in. Would be good for CCurnow to listen to it and put it up to Harry from here on in. :)

The big difference was intelligent (mostly) kicks into forward line - thank goodness this improved from last weeks debacle.

However Blues could have kicked another 8 goals if not for the brain fades and lack of composure along the way.

Eg.
Harry trying a Buddy impersonation instead of “over the top” to Levi.
Murphy kicking a wedge to SOS instead of a 3 iron (in last minute of game)
Dow missed 2 sitters and stuffed up another.
Etc etc.

Still so much improvement to come.

Casboult was covered by his defender...there was no opportunity to pass.

Going for goal was the right option, he just mucked up the execution.

I’ve had it with this club! Another shit performan...

Wait. We won?!

It’s amazing what happens when you play four quarters of footy, and move the footy with purpose.

I hate to big note (no I don’t) but if anyone can be bothered finding it, I picked Harry over 12 months ago, as a once in a generation player. I know Charlie is a gun, but Harry will end his career as “a great of the game”. Mark my words.

It was fantastic to see a win. And great to see the players with smiles on their faces, rather than bitter disappointment.

SPS announced himself today. Hopefully that’s the rule and not the exception, moving forward.

Well done Blues. More to come now!

Can you believe that Muppet David King things it's harder to play fwd at port (rozee) than midfield at cfc (walsh)

Brereton backed us up. Walsh ave of 26, 45% contested and kms p game off the charts, demands the RS

Sent from my SM-N950F using Tapatalk

Rozee looks a star in the making and is exactly what our team needs, but we needed a Walsh type even more and he's definitely leading the RS right now with consistent mid-20 possession games and a few goals.

Just another lazy 26 for Walsh while the rest of his teammates got on with winning the game.

Can’t believe we took him over Connor Rozee
And he got us to the ton with a banana on the siren. What a kid
