Naita is the only bloke in our midfield that looks to have any x-factor whatsoever. The only bloke who can break away from congestion with pace and create momentum going forward.

And he's had two possessions today. :(

a few moves we need to make:

lecras on the wing, he'll be able to kick a few from 50 on the run there.
paddy mac on okeefe with a 100% full on tag
selwood needs to revert to tagging mcveigh

im really liking schofield's game, he's giving it 100%. stevenson looks likely, it'd be a hard game for a debutant today. m.brown giving us nothing, we need him to become a presenting CHF in the next half...a 'hansen' like role.

also, kennedy is getting molested up front. moar free kicks plz.

1 rather ordinary half down but the upside is, if we can SOMEHOW find the Eagles who played at home last week we actually have a chance. We have to play completely differently to do it, but it is possible.

Key thing, for me, is we need to do 2 things

1) Find players in SPACE more. It is tough at the SCG but Sydney are doing it well. We're not reading each other well, passing to area's the other person is not going. If we can click in this way, we'll do better.

2) We need to have cleaner possession. Too often we are double grabbing or over running the ball. Brett Jones at the end there was a perfect example.

Forget the umpires, if we can do these things better we'll limit the ability of the umpires to be rubbish.

These aren't things teams NORMALLY improve within a game but I can hope!

CARN EAGLES

Rubbish half, umpires clearly trying to even up the free kicks in the 2nd Qtr. One Dimensional entry into forward half. Glass slow as a locomotive in defence, Spangher at his errant best. LeCras wasteful, Naitanui held off the ball too much. Coxy brillant.

1st Qtr:
Schofield was good on Goodes
Hams was great
Eagles couldn't buy a free kick (ie. LeCras in centre)

2nd Qtr
Sydney's field kicking and kicking to leading forwards were superb
Sydney kept us in the game with behinds early on
Schofield continuing good work on Goodes
Sydney's run killed us early
Eagles fought back late in the qtr but couldn't kick goals
Still no frees in forward 50 despite obvious ones to Kennedy, until the last second (cox).

Our performance and that of the umpires is just horrible.

Our inability to grab the ball, hit a target or create anything is beyond frustrating. One of the reasons we like NN so much is that he plays with intent. Get it, take them on, score ... The majority of our team play reactively, defensively and with no threat.

Ebert showed a bit, Schofield good, Lecca is having a poor one, our forwards have no capacity at all to apply pressure, I mean we may as well play McKinley.

Also, have always been a fan of playing Brown forward but he is struggling to mark the ball and looks no real threat. Although one needs to take into account our ball butchering ...

Just really really hard to watch ...

We are oddly in it but you reckon that Sydney could score 5 in 5 minutes at any stage .... let's hope not ...

The umpire in our forward line has put away his whistle. Kennedy and others are getting mugged down there - nothing. Even the Cox free kick was from the central umpire.

Let's hope Glass stops getting pantsd by Bradshaw in the 2nd half.
There's not much any defender can do in his situation. Ball is coming in quick and precise.

Ive said it before and i'll say it again, Mitch Brown is useless up forward. Provides no target, cant mark the ball when it is kicked to him and doesnt chase. Its been 4 games now and he hasnt shown anything.

agreed. some very harsh on Glass...the lace out passes to Bradshaw have been unbelievable...hasnt lost a 50/50 contest yet

I'm sorry but a Full-Back needs to offer more than just spoiling and a one kick first half. If we had a decent tall who could do all this like we had in the past then our defence would be better for it.

We have no clue how to play on this ground.

Schofield should learn to open his eyes before he kicks the ball. Belongs on an old yellow school bus, that guy.

What the hell? Sure he had a couple of mistakes but there are people in our team kicking worse who have been playing for longer! Not sure why you picked Schoey out he isn't having a bad game.

And if you didnt realise he is playing on Goodes.

Glass has been simply awful. Has been all last year and this year so far. Every game people defend with the same excuse but the fact is he's just too slow and starts running far too late when his opponent is already a mile infront of him.

3 or 4 free kicks either way is not going to make much difference when the overall posession count is Sydney - 223, West Coast - 132!!!! that's a huge difference .... like 6 - 8 players worth.
