I was never a big Robbie Williams fan but it's impossible to not have the positive association forever after that day.

I have 3/4s of a Robbie cd - it was back in the early days of the iPod etc, and record companies blocked CDs from being able to be fully ripped to a computer... So you couldn't copy the first couple of songs

I was making mix CDs for friends, and Robbie was one artist we were utilising - I've kept it since 😂

But I've never had a real interest in going to a concert of his, but after that performance I did think about his Day on the Green concert as he was the ultimate showman

Can't believe the confirmation bias with the amount of posters who were adamant Guthrie should have done VFL time and therefore think he might fail today. Only human to keep backing your outlook I suppose, even if we are talking about a Club champion and automatic pick. The selectors and medical staff know what they are doing.
This year I've given you Guthrie, Parfitt and Mannagh, although probably been too subtle to be noticed.
If Cameron Guthrie struggles today it won't be because he's unfit and should have returned via the twos.
It will be because he's beaten by the opposition- along with any other player we don't see at their best.
Go well Cam.

Did I read a stat that no one's had 30 disposals yet? The ball could spend a fair bit of time in defence so could be the day. Might be worth a punt

WHY?

Tandy:..... less than 30 disposals can also equate to less game time &/or sharing of football amongst players of which a few observant and astute Geelong fans previously on Geelong Big Footy threads have noted.

Inside 50's last three games

Brisbane Lions 51 vs Geelong 57..........+6
Geelong 61 vs North Melbourne 45.......+16
Western Bulldogs 51 vs Geelong 55......+4

I can understand with other Geelong Big Footy members having concerns or reservations, as 'match-day fitness and competitiveness' cannot be simulated with in-house training but none the less I do agree we have to back-in our fitness, medical and coaching staff with having the confidence and professionalism in making the right call, cause if they get it right it could quite possibly be an excellent benefit to us.

Fingers crossed 🤞

6 seconds of footy since 22/4/2023 what could possibly go wrong? I was an advocate for some VFL game time still am but in this case I'd also love to be proved wrong.

Fair enough too, but all I'm saying is leave those reservations at the door now, no 'I told you so's"
This is the game they were aiming him for, have everything except eyes crossed but feeling a BIG win coming on.

At the G against a proper side is always a great opportunity.

Against the Pies last year we were simply too unfit and banged up both times to maintain the rage.
It’s a huge contrast to our fitness this year compared to last.
You can tell the players are so fit this year.
They could barely run last year.

The preordained premieres are the flavour of the year.
AFL socialists have donated Cats home Game for Equity
Blues have amassed their talent via favored draft system.
Cats found talent outside the system and developed it.
Don't expect favours from the controllers with whistles
The battle between youth v experience will won on merit.
A Blues win, relies on their 3 key forwards performing.
Simple strategy get the ball into F50 quick and often.
Cats must reduce supply and quality of F50 delivery.
Loss of star defender Steward increases this challenge.
Cats will rely on every player bringing the pressure.
Every possession will be physically fought for.
Time and space will collapse until it becomes mental.
Blues will learn why experience and skill matters.
Cats skilled small's have ability to execute under duress.
They will capitalize on every Blue mistake, Bank on it!
The Blue Baggers will turn into blue beggars.
Cats stocks will continue to deify the market experts.

Cats are Solid Gold

Am expecting a good contest. And am expecting to get them today. We are playing well, coaching well.
Will be different next time- they will have people back and so will we.
Today should be an enjoyable match to watch.
