Lachie Schulz is one of freos better forwards. kicked 4 goals on the weekend.

15 goals and 7 behinds this season. He has kicked at least 1 goal in every game barring that brisbane game.

That game where he didnt kick a goal was Brisbane and even then he got 16 disposals.

Having just watched the game for the first time last night this is what I saw,

Darcy played a complete game, dominated in the ruck, played well around the ground and looked to move the game on quickly at all times with handballs to advantage and quick kicks forward. He even had a right foot kick towards the end of the third quarter. How Hickey was allowed to continually have his arm over Darcy's shoulder in the ruck contest is bewildering?

One of the commentators said of Schultz "he tackles with intent and he chases with intent" A perfect description of Schultz's football, gotta love the way he goes about it every week. 4 goals was a fitting reward.

With Jackson playing back to back good games and kicking goals it's looking more and more like a good trade for Freo. Jacko and Darcy both playing well in the same games is reassuring too.

Switta was very good all game and Serong was also hard at it all game.

Treacy played his best game for us so far, held his marks and took marks as a forward and up the ground. Goals. He has got a good tank and plays with intent in a physical way that helps bring teammates into the game.

Erasmus is a keeper.

The backline as a unit hardly put a foot wrong.

We are still a work in progress but we a getting a good look at how we might evolve into a contender over the next few years.

The turn, burst, bounce and fast ball to HFF was something that we haven't had since Pav. Could be an absolute weapon if we get more of that regularly.
I also love that he really attacked the big mark he took. It showed he was more comfortable with his place in the team and at this level than he has shown before. Several times in the last few games he has been in a position to sit on someone’s head but he has taken the body up option and been out marked. This time he saw it and went for it. Great stuff!

Also a good barometer for the team's state of mind and confidence that a player with some questions on his place in the team plays out of his shell like that.
