Another soft fixture for round 5! The AFL has looked after us in our premiership defence early doors! 4th non top 8 team in 5 games and more to come! S. Hocking has done well with his influence at HQ. Can we take advantage of it?
Carlton and Collingwood are in the top 8, or do you mean where they finished last year?

Don't think there are many teams that were given 0 home games in the first 5 rounds.

Mind you, I think at our best it won't matter who we play.

Why anyone is concerned with the team ins & outs for this game is mind boggling… as for looking at the ladder and doing ladder predictions…. Oh dear! We might finish 9th at the end of this round and 8th after the next round….is that cause for celebration? Oh boy…!
Mods....please...this is getting ridiculous.

There is no way mods can any longer not consider this a troll account. Parroting Richmond nuffies now.

No home games until round 6 and two MCG tenant top 4 contenders at the G balances out the other 3 weaker teams.

That poster has it on record as saying Geelong played at their best during round 1-3. I think they're recovering from the shock of the second half on Monday.

By end of round 6 we'll have played 3 sides that will likely be top 6. 3 probably bottom 6. The middle of the pack teams start round 7. Overreactions to fixtures or results this early in the season are always amusing. By about round 10 there's a better idea of where teams sit.

I guess the big question will come if/when we have a side that includes both SDK and J.Henry in it. Is there also room for Esava? Even I (as a massive fan of his) has to concede that there's a good chance he'll be squeezed out.

Just has to keep at it though. If he continues to improve and is hitting it out of the park building toward September, hopefully he'll create headaches for the MC.

I so so want to see him with a premiership medallion (in blue and white hoops).
Barring something unforeseen, Ratugolea is there for good, even after Henry returns.

I've loved Sav in his new role but an exercise like this works best with the actual line up

FB: Bews SDK Henry
HB: Duncan Kolo Stewart
C: Smith Blicavs Holmes
HF: Close Cameron Miers
FF: Stengle Hawkins Rohan
Fol: Stanley C.Guthrie Dangerfield

IC: Zuthrie Tuohy Atkins MOC

Emg: O.Henry Bowes Parfitt

Who misses?

The 2 or 3 who are injured

But on a serious note I'm interpreting your "something unforseen" statement as meaning not all of the other 8 defenders on that list are available. Which is essentially the same as not having J.Henry. I think the MC value MOC a lot, especially when he is in this kind of form. Zuthrie is no longer droppable. Tuohy, Duncan, Stewart, Kolo and Bews never really have been. Competition for defensive spots will be tight once Jack is back.

Probably dozens.

The fact catscollector was banned, who is making lots of great contributions on the main board and in my opinion redeemed previous antagonisms, and this entity is not, is slightly baffling.

I've found the mods to be fair, and prompt, in their adjudications here, hence my question.

They don't usually muck around.

Henry is such a creative player which is why I love seeing him in the backline. And the fact he excelled there in the GF shows that that's where the coaches think he helps the team the most too. I hope he gets back soon.

Right now I'm resigned to the fact this may well be the last year seeing Sav in the hoops.

I wouldn't be surprised if the club made a bit of a promise to him when they blocked his move to PA to give him a big chance to show what he can do in 2023 and potentially boost his next contract.

For the moment though I'm just going to live in the moment and hang on to the possibility he'll be a premiership player for us.

Hope we get to see him add to the already impressive 2023 highlight reel against the Eagles.

If Chris Scott has talked Esava up the way he has I doubt he intends to only have him as security in the twos..
