Secondly, big Al Meldrum, after coaching the Heathcote Saints to this year's HDFL premiership, is all but signed, sealed and delivered as an assistant coach at the Cattery for 2010.

Brendan Lee will remain in the top job, but the Cats have brought in the perfect cover should results not go as expected early in the season. That is unlikely to happen though as the bank account is overflowing at Tony Clarke Oval and they are looking to bring in the cavalry to ensure they go a few steps better next season.

Been told a ranga from Heathcote is in the mix to make the shift, but gun red-headed ruckman/forward Lech Featherstone is likely to play in Melbourne next year, leaving Matt Waters or Tom Tobin as the likely candidates. Both handy footballers.

Best way to confirm whether if a rumour is true or not is to throw it out there and wait for the responses. Obviously the Garry $2K is correct and the Robbo one isn't.

footy clubs these days have to realise if u want the players 2 come
you hav to spend the coin, its sad but thats the way it is this day and age. good on da roos if they if they get da players they spent da money with A.james and that helped romsey done it and it helped them big time so did lancefield if they say different the r lying all you have to do is go out and get good sponsers and a little help from da locals just go out and ask for the sponsers the worst thing they will say is no, big deal if they do go to the next one. even wouldnt hurt
if a few players giv the clubs a chop out and go ask for sponsers.

Just heard a number of Gissy boys could be heading up the highway to join the Woodsman in 2010.That would bolster there stocks greatly and give them a massive chance for a big tilt at the flag.There not real happy with some of the Coaching appointments.

one would hope not, palmer would play twos for sure, would not break into the senior outfit, and i think that belleville wouldnt exactly be the type of bloke that macedon are looking for.
there are far far better midfielders out there than an bloke who is slow, hangs out the back of packs turns the ball over and has disgusting hair.

no way in hell would blade leave macedon, the boy isnt stupid he would no that next year they are a very very big chance, if they top up the list with a few players then look out, and im very sure that he would like to be a part of that

Woodends this week, i think Downing is too far in front to lose. Cook should get job again but positions open. They are looking to pay a few more bucks next year so watcxh this space for recruiting news. Blade come 3rd but top 4 were real close apparently. Meldrum back to his home club good to see. He might be a bonus later in year. Lee working overtime on a couple of new recruits im told but is happy to take group he has a lot further. With Nipper Wright & Macarthers back for good they already have 3 top recruits.

Geez I reckon Meldrum would be lucky to play. Saw him do the knee and looked terrible at the time and traditionally big fella's do struggle to get back. Goodluck to him though, he is a top fella and enjoyed playing against him

Heard Meldrum had his reco. yesterday. Tough ask for him to play in 2010, but who knows-he is serious about footy and would likely work hard to get back.

do you know what he had done? the type of op done can have a big bearing on the return time to playing. had a few reco's myself,so i can appreciate how much work is involved in getting it up and going again. good luck to him
