not sure pal i think it might be better for him to stay on the sidelines. but if he decides to play he'll have to put in a bit more at training for fitness. that also goes for all us old fellas to catch up with the young boys comin thru.
were is your phone :eek:SWEET CHEEKS HAVE BEEN :eek:TRYING TO RING YOU:footy: HOT PIES also you want to start training as i have heard you have had a couple of big weeks????:thumbsu: FRONT BUM :thumbsu:IS IT TRUE :p

Not a bad debut posting there Archie - was it really a "coup" as you suggest or did Neal not stand for re-election? I doubt very much a bloke like Peddo would align himself and coach a playing group of party boys who aint in it to be the best they possibly can so Im sure the playing side of things will stand-up. The hard work for footy clubs behind the scenes is always done between Sept and say Feb (list management, recruiting, sponsors, members etc etc), so this is where at times fresh blood can find it difficult to get up and about.

In saying that we have our AGM this coming week, and I reckon every year for the past 10 there's been whispers of "takeovers" so it will be interesting to see how it pans out. Lets be honest the best run clubs are united on all fronts, personalities are put aside with everyone on the one page and pulling in the same direction ....... maybe that explains why our local clubs (Broadford, Kilmore & Wallan) have fallen short at senior level in recent times

Either way it's always good to see the local Mitchell Shire teams faring well, so hopefully they can all pull their fingers out and push hard at getting back up the ladder :thumbsu:

From what I have been told, Neal did go for re-election and got smashed in a secret ballot. Hopefully the players for Wallan do know what they have put Matt in for. His first meeting with the new committee is on monday night. One can only hope that Peddo does stick around and coaches another year. If he goes the only other person that wants the job is Scott Gilchrist.
Either way, I will be there helping Wallans bottom line by drinking some of VBs finest.

Dont understand that bit  I thought Peddo was re-appointed and had been busily recruiting already?

Yes a SECRET ballot and only the scrutineers and chair know the actual result. So any rumours of a smashing are just that - rumours. Were you actually interested enough to be at the meeting or do you just listen to gossip and "what you have been told".

And if you know anything about the Wallan Club, you would know that Neal is pleased that someone else has finally put themself forward to take the president's position. Young Matt may be but with support and wise counsel from those around him, I am sure he will do a sterling job.

Also the constitution states that all coaching appointments must be ratified by new committee.

I know gary and he is a super star, one of if not the best player i have seen play local footy, you seem to have missed the point i was making.

Kangaroos splashing some serious coin on atleast one unlucky Rupertswood player from this year. Seem to be recruiting well so far.

One would hope that this very unlucky Rupo guy gets over the hurt of missing out on playing in a premiership and puts his efforts back into playing with the blue and gold in 2010. He's been a great servant of the club and the club has also done a pretty good job of looking after him too!

l know a bloke who has played with him recently & by all reports is a top bloke, but dont tell me his playing there because your a great club for him & his family, make sure your payments dont become late as the nice Gary can turn very nasty.

Gary and his wife and kids like the club and people around it . Pretty much the reason he is staying put.

Just like he liked his last club were he played in 3 grandfinals & 2 flags then the money ran out & Gary ran out!!

And he is the only bloke in footy that has done that is he. This is now the norm in footy everywhere nowdays. Clubs just need to make sure that while they have the money to spend on the gun players they make the most of it by winning flags.
