I would think if you spoke to Kilmore people they are enjoying the Northern Football League
Played finals in both seniors and reserves last year, have 19's in 2020 with Desi coaching
Who knows where they would be if still in Riddell
Juniors also going well in Northern Good luck to them in 2020 season
Again I ask Dons81, what happens to the league if Wallan and Rupo do leave in 2021
Will the league survive on 8 teams?
I just hope powers that be at headquarters do have a strategic plan for the next 5-10 years

The RDFL has been around a longtime Dave G !!!! Your a bandwagon man and jumps off when the going gets tough. eg, Jumped off the Romsey bandwagon then on to the Broadford bandwagon, where were you when they had there tough times.................YES that's right ,you went into your dungeon grab your keyboard looking for someone else to blame!!!!! Did someone from the RDFL steal your candy???? Whinge Whinge Whinge Whinge you are a very negative little boy who wants his candy back, Well your not getting candy back and it's time you grew up.....You have a lot to say about the RDFL but not once have you thrown your hat into the ring, but you won't!!! actions are louder than words let's see if you have the BALLS and jump on the board....................that's right the board has already been elected and we have another 12 months of you potting the VOLUNTEERS that sit on the board.
This league has been around a longtime before I came into this world and it will be here long after I'm gone. don't a part of the problem be apart of the solution.....RANT OVER
#wheresmycandy #bandwagonman
Get your fact right chump your crap doesn’t warrant an Answer perhaps a role of toilet paper its on its way.
The fact here is that there has been nothing done since the clubs moved to the Goldfields model except for increased Fees can anyone here state anything that’s been implemented since then that’s created Long term
viability.

Here comes the standard response.... I set up a business plan at both clubs, I had family and work commitments, I’ve moved north now. Blah blah blah!!!

I don’t think we will go to 18 next year.
Not only affect player payments but league fees will increase as will umpires. But if makes sense for 2021. Personally I would go final 5.
Great to see the new signings announced on your Facebook page Morgs. Not only are those boys handy players, they are all quality individuals who will enhance your club. I look forward to seeing your next batch of signings.

Thanks Blueboy.
hopefully a couple more sign up tonight,

It is fine to say there is a strategic plan and has been, but then what is it. Just because it has strategic plan on the front cover unless activated it don't exist. I have no doubt the league has a plan, the plan though is either flawed or the execution and communication of it poor. I can only judge the last 4 - 5 years. Forget the administration then, the facts are the comp has lost kilmore sunbury and broadford with Rockbank as good as folded last year and the same with lancefield. Thankfully lancefield appear to be bouncing back but as a league it has dived and dived significantly. We all hope it can build up again and hopefully the admin is at the forefront of driving this. Again for mine it starts in the junior system to help build the foundations of the clubs and that needs real fixing by the looks. It is reported the Richmond tigers ten year ago set themselves a vision and every decision was based around achieving it. This is what a lot of us are talking about, what is the vision for the RDFL in the future. My information is that many at the league do not actually know what the future looks like and were waiting for afl vic to tell them. May be right, may be wrong. But with Rod Ward gone who must have had those connections, you can't sit still and wait. I agree with one poster a 10 team comp is perfect. reemphasize again though, listening to people state in 2020 you cannot go 18 rounds final 5 because of budgets etc personally for mine is a cop out. Look at it the other way, a chance for additional function, additional membership $, additional revenue streams having another home game.

It has been discussed, a number of leagues across the state aren't exactly enamoured with the leadership of AFL Vic.

AFL Gippsland only cover two of the eight senior leagues in the region.

Of those two, West Gippsland are working on getting out and the Gippsland league clubs are not particularly enamoured with what's going on.

It would be a body blow for the AFL and AFL Victoria if not one senior club east of Powelltown came under the peak body's jurisdiction.

Well said mate I’m of strong belief they have targeted 2021 as they have no plan and Now The wheels are falling off there hand is forced just a cop out.
Many have pushed for change and been wacked perhaps the wackers now can see That the Goldfields have No leadership and if they do need to start to be LEAD.

The real question now is why? Why do Rupo want to leave. The league need to understand this. Rupo would be the final straw. With their junior system they are going to be the driving force of the standard of the comp in the future. Maybe my hopes for the comp to return and be as good as any is fanciful, but I would hate to see this league descend into one of the many substandard comps around the state. Time for the league to get that strategic plan moving. Don't wait for AFL Vic to save ya, cause they aint coming and if Rupo go, what is the attraction for some of the clubs that have been mentioned to enter the comp. 12 months by the look to get it right.

This conversation has been going on for years your right unless the clubs stand up now and take back control there is a world of pain ahead

Wow.... so basically all 2’s players have no idea is what your saying Dave? Bit harsh there Dave.....

Wondering why HQ has been so quiet, Rupo have now come out and said they have had a vote about leaving the league, what odds that they are gone

If you think NFNL aren't talking to Wallan then you are kidding yourself

Hopefully Rockbank are going in the right direction but it has been a struggle for them the last few years 7 teams in 2021 would be a disaster for everyone

Looking forward to the 2020 season.

Hopefully the talk on here is about what is happening on the field rather then if the league can survive or which clubs are looking to switch leagues.

Diggers recruited well and some players returning makes them early favourites to win both the ones & twos flags.

Rupo seem to have kept there list together. I haven’t heard of any recruits.

Macedon looks to have recruited well. Could challenge for a top 4 spot.

Riddell, couple from gisborne coming in. Loss of Ross will hurt. No confirmation on weather Sahlberg is staying or going.

Wallan I’m hearing have a few from Greenvale coming in. Some stars missed the finals series and apart from the granny, were probably the best team in the finals. Got great depth with a dominate young 2s side. Must win a flag in the next 2 years I feel. Will challenge.

Romsey, haven’t heard of any pick ups, losing JC hurts big time. If the league goes to final 5, there the team of the top 6 to miss out I feel.

Woodend, recruited some in, but I feel it will be another year of hype and they finish 7-8 again. Toman leaving is a massive loss.

Centerals, been very quiet on social media unlike previous years. Got no idea what’s going on there.

Lancefield will improve but still along way off making finals. If they can finish on top of centerals or Woodend then I think they would consider that a successful season.

Rockbank good on them for hanging in there. It’s been tough work and I think it’s only going to get tougher, but gee I take my hat off to the hardworking guys down there. I hope when clubs play at Rockbank, they really get behind and support the club.

Early ladder prediction

Diggers
Rupo
Macedon
Wallan
Riddell
Romsey
Woodend
Lancefield
Centerals
Rockbank

This response doesn’t actually make any sense you really are a goose Dave.
And I thoroughly enjoyed my time playing twos at the end of my career, it gave me an appreciation for the fact that they are the lifeblood of any club.
