I am currently in the planning stages of one.

It’s a hard slog that takes a very long time as I’m making sure I plan everything out pretty clearly before I start writing the actual story. Stuff like backstory on characters, the setting and events that no one else will ever see but I want to know myself so I can write about them properly.

I don’t expect it to be finished for at least another 5 years.

Fun though.

Oh you have got to be kidding sir...first of all you think of an idea that has already been done and then you give it a title that that nobody could possible like...it was on the best sellers list for 18 months... on every magazine cover ...one of the most popular movies of all time sir...WHAT WERE YOU THINKING?...
I mean thank you come again.

Anyone ever attempted writing a novel before?

I think I'm finally ready to give it a crack but I have this irrational fear that just as I finish it Russia will bomb my house and I'll lose all my progress.

Yes.

I've written about 25 pages of stuff at various levels of coherence. A page or two set half way through, then I'll jump back and write a page or two set at the beginning, it's a bit all over the place. Plus a lot of research and planning documents.

I also worked through an online course on Coursera. Just the free version so I didn't get "graded" on anything, but I still listened to all the lectures and completed the assignments. Felt it was a good way to get into the creative writing mindset, which is completely different to the usual writing I do.

Creative Writing Course

I've also started a non fiction book. I'm about 15 pages into it. It's on the Eagles :$ In my mind I see it as a sequel to Soaring by Geoff Christian. So a proper history book, not the tripe the club had pumped out since :moustache: But we'll see :tearsofjoy: I have so many books I've picked up over the years to use as reference material, it's become a bit of an obsession for me to find books on the Eagles/WA football/history of football in general.

One day...

I was literally just thinking about doing something like that.

So now I have to decide whether to just leave it to you, or try to race you to print :D
