Father's Day falls too close to my anniversary and I feel like I'm getting jibbed out of my deserved day of focused praise and recognition.

Fathers Day was probably already there before you set your wedding date.

Only got yourself to blame I’m afraid.

It's true, we chose the day based on the weather in Mauritius. Seems I should've done more research into possible future conflicts of interest.

But we did choose the first week of September to not affect GF day. "Priorities"

Well la-di-da, somebody had a fancy tropical wedding that the rest of us can't afford.

Not having to concern yourself with such things is one of the handful of benefits Freo supporters have

For real? Flights alone are $1500 and up.

We got flights, the equivalent of the presidential suite for 14 days, the wedding ceremony and reception, rings and clothing for all the bridal party for less than a 100 person reception in Perth. Having a big wedding in WA these days is out of control.

As soon as you mention wedding, everyone jacks up the prices exponentially

Mauritius is no cheap holiday either, unfortunately. Would be ideal if it was, but it caters to wealthy European tourists mainly.

Destination wedding makes it all about the bride and groom. “Hey campaigners we’re off to Mauritius to get married. Come if you want, or don’t, whatever.”

Outrageously selfish really. Do they think the event is all about them?

Yeah look gg on the awesome wedding, but destination weddings are the worst from the guest's point of view unless everyone is a rich kent, in which case I hate them all on principle anyway. Sucked in on the clash with Father's Day :kissingheart:

Embrace jealousy :moustache:

Twirls moustache and adjusts monocle before chuckling condescendingly in your general direction

But yeah I don't disagree, I've had to turn down others because of lack of funds. We invited people 2 years out and got a package deal on flights and accommodation for $2500 per couple. It's not outside the realms of possibility and expense with that time frame.

I went to a mate’s wedding in Bali once because I was between jobs, had a bit of free time and money and hadn’t been there before.

Apparently I forgot to tell him I was attending though, he was a bit surprised when I rocked up. Oops.
