This sounds like my relationship with olives. I my mind they're something I think I would like, and then I eat one and realise, again, they are awful.

Personally not a fan of it but I find it funny when non Australians lather a slice with a thick coating or eat a spoonful. It’s kinda link drinking a shot of cordial

Ep 3 of Last of Us is a pretty incredible example of near perfect filmmaking (televisionmaking? I don’t know man)
Absolutely wonderful television

What is it about the letters L_ST that lend themselves to starting the names of perfect shows?

So we finally got a producer who realised the way to make a good video game adaptation is to adapt the existing story and not try to make a movie that looks like a video game?

So my wife and I have been taking Italian lessons for the past few months, for no other reason than interest and we both have a link to it and thought it'd be cool to be able to speak a second language.

Our teacher for level 1 was a 20 something female teacher from Italy who finished the term and had to go back home to eat some cannolis or something. Level 2 starts with a new 20 something female teacher from Italy with the same name. Bit quirky but whatever.

We spend lesson 1 reviewing level 1 stuff and the last 10 minutes of the class we're discussing colours and their names and pronunciation etc.

The last colour on the list is black, or nero in Italian. The teacher then starts to say: "In Italy, there is a word that is sometimes used to describe black people from America which is similar." I interject with "Oh okay no worries we know what you're referring to, don't need cover that."

She politely waves me away and continues "This word is (n-bomb), it is not a nice word. (n-bomb) is derived from the same Latin word for black like nero. But we don't say it coz (n-bomb) is not a good word. Okay thanks guys, ciao I see you next week."

Thanks lady. Absolutely dumbfounded.

I met a Spanish guy a few years back who casually dropped it into conversation. I'm fairly sure it was due to ESL difficulties and lack of awareness. It sounds really really jarring though.

Bender said a lot of words just to say how hot his Italian teacher is 😂😂

The swatzsticka she wears really brings out the colour in her eyes.

Indeed, will admit I choked up a couple of times during the episode. Was very bitter-sweet.

The majority of shows with the financial backing of HBO appear to make quality television. Will be great if we can ever get HBO Max here.

It was a great episode and the previous two had great moment also. I'm a bit concerned going forward as the TV series version of Ellie seems extremely unlikable to me.

Much more so than the game.

Neither is Joel so far. Something that I assume is intentional in regards to character development down the track.
