Nice part of the world

And how have you spent your long weekend? Has the dickhead next door chilled out on the 7am Sunday construction or still going?

Replaced the rusted gutter on my shed (just in time it seems) with minimal swearing. Actually had very few problems for once....pending the incoming rain.
Went out to a honey farm near us for lunch (good for a visit if your kids like animals) - Little Eeden Farm - Little Eeden Farm
And went to the WAFL game this arvo. Not as much fun as replacing the gutter.

I would need to be paid to go down south this time of year (and paid extra for a farmstay). I like the cold but there's a difference between cold and Antarctic.

It took some convincing with the wife, but it has indeed been rather cool. As long as you're dressed prepared it's not too bad. Also the cottage has a couple of split systems (thank ****) otherwise we may have been a bit cool over night.

Went out whale watching yesterday, got about 7km off-shore. Now that was just stupid cold to the point of the skin in my face aching.

I thought I liked the cold until I spent a winter in Canberra.

It's usually fair to say that West Aussies don't really know cold. I spent a fortnight in Canberra in July and the nights were stupid. Even worse was the day trip I took to Kosciuszko in jeans and a hoodie thinking I'd be fine. Took the cable car up and couldn't even make it the last little bit to the summit I was so freezing. What a dick head.

It's official - after many fine years of service and a few years of struggling with basic functionality, my beloved Dell laptop has retired. Oh it'll still boot up now and again as I scrape my life onto an external hard drive, but it can rest easier and enjoy its twilight years before I get around to chucking it in the recycling bin at Officeworks.

Enjoy your day off campaigners

I’ll enjoy managing to navigate the Kwinana freeway with 40mm of rain without having to stress about people crashing and causing a two hour commute

It's Perth and rain - the only other car there could be a little old lady sticking to the left hand lane but a traffic jam will still materialise.

Did anyone get wet? Didn't get that much up here
My home setup was showing 52 when I checked this morning. Bucketed down hard about 4 pm yesterday. A short deluge again at about 8:30.
The roads were very subpar.

Yeah saw some pics & videos of flooding in a few places. Seems like the central suburbs got a fair bit more rain than they were predicting.

We were there on Sunday too. Were camped at a farmstay called Chittering Aces, was a top spot. Spent about 45 minutes at Little Eeden in the early arvo. Might've crossed paths. I was the strapping 6'4" bloke with broad shoulders, square jawline, sandy blonde locks and baby blue eyes. Did you see me?

Nah I was there on Saturday, I was the guy stuffing chicken wings in my gob

Chittering Acres is the one with the metal fish out the front yeah?

I was very pleasantly surprised with the weather we got. Minimal rain, which is what you want when camping. I hired an Expanda this time, so not packing a damp tent away was an added bonus.
Yeah we didn't get anywhere near as much as down in the city, even last night wasn't anything too heavy. I only live about 5 minutes up the road from where you were staying
