Melbourne vs Brisbane

Be interesting as Thursday night final wasn't an option and 3 out of 4 are all Victorian finals. North vs Geelong at colonial stadium?

Essendon over Hawks easy
Dogs had beaten Carlton both times during the year and no super kouta. Could be upset but Blues
Melbourne at home over Lions
North were only just going in 2000 but should do enough to beat Geel

2nd week
Essendon and Carlton through to prelims and Hawks and Dogs out

North vs Brisbane
Melbourne vs Geel

Melbourne over Geelong
North had a good record over Lions at the time and this final would be at the g. Kangas in a close one?

3rd week
Essendon vs North
Carlton vs Melbourne

Essendon obliterate us just 2 weeks later then original history.

Carlton had lost 3 out of 4 pre finals and super kouta. Melbourne had been kicking cricket scores. Does the week off help Blues?

Looks like we end up with same GF but Essendon most likely do it comfortably against anyone that year.

Not as much different as I thought but maybe another season plays out different

The McIntyre 8 system was flawed. Only the top 4 teams had a home final in the first week unlike the current system where 1st, 2nd, 5th and 6th have a home qualifying/elimination final

Even more interesting is to see how finals between 1994-1999 would have went with the modern finals system
