That's fine. Personally, I thought his behaviour was ambiguous. And still is. But I don't feel any worse off for it. And yes, I do think condescending to 'feel sorry' for those who held out hope is being a know all.

When we are talking about "replacing" PD - I know that Bennell has super-star potential - but why doesnt Hampton get any love? He was picked as a 17 year old by GWS - and is surely going to be something special?

Because we are likely paying a third rounder to get him. That should tell you all you need to know.
They pinned his foot initially hoping to fix it. The pins didn't work so they've pulled them out and used bone from his hip to fill the hole. Now they're giving it time to heal "naturally". In hindsight the initial treatment approach probably wasn't the right one, now they're taking the conservative approach which means extended time in moonboot. Should be right for pre-season.
