1) Ebert has been fantastic
2) McKinley kicked 42 goals in 18 matches
3) Masten showed some very promising signs
4) Our 4 young backman (Wilkes, Spangher, MacKenzie, Schofield) all got substantial game time.
5) Lynch re-invented himself as a gun midfielder ;)
6) Cox will be AA again
7) LeCras averaged over 2 goals a game for the second year in a row
8) Butler is back

Problem is, they never worked together as a team and because of this, they struggled to put together 4 quarters of solid football. We need some stability in the team next year, hopefully we used this year as a trial period to test where each player is best suited.

i definately agree. the season is not as bad as it made out, we will jell as a team but this takes time.

We still had some fantastic wins this year, against adelaide we thumped them by 51 points and there top 8, v st kilda we turned the game around after half time and won a great match, and saw staker shine in the midfield. i am very optimistic that west coast will be top 4 in 3,4,mabey 5 years

it might sound cliched but as long as the club and the boys on the field learn from what happened then it's not a complete disaster of a season.

Of course just looking at the results alone it indicates a pretty piss poor season indeed but some have already mentioned there were plenty of young guys who developed pretty well but we're inconsistent (as 90% of young players are) and were not given enough support from senior players - glass (could be excused, under huge pressure and injured), stenglein, hunter, kerr (when he played he wasn't as dominant, and on top of that missed several games through suspension), braun were very much down on what we'd normally get from them....

from what i've read and the little bit i've seen there is some pretty good young guys on our list and we are definetaly ahead of where we were in 2001...

i'd rather do what we have and just bottom out then be in never ending mid table cycle with the occasional flash up the top like adelaide, kangaroos....

didn't give a whimper most weeks. tbo i struggled to watch the on field capitulations. The sudden loss in confidence in eachother's abilities, the demise of our run and support through the guts and all too rare one percenters were most unsettling.
tbo?
