I don't agree with their view, but this does raise an interesting point about Sport endlessly pushing social agendas. Those guys signed up to play Rugby, not to promote social causes. They should be allowed an out if it is something they don't want to get behind.
They can sit out, nobody can force them to play I wouldn’t have thought. Equally, nobody can force people to not say it’s an embarrassing look from a pack of homophobes. People get around military round, people get around leagues selling off their jerseys to Marvel and the Looney Tunes, but make it about pride and suddenly it’s “don’t use sport for social agendas”.

Their regular guernsey violates the bible in more ways than having some rainbow stripes does. A one off guernsey that means very little to most of their audience but would mean everything to a certain % of them, and that’s a bridge to far?

Nah. Sit out lads, your call, but if people want to tee off on them then also so be it.

I’m not a rugby person by any stretch, but seems particularly pointed in this case as Manly have a club legend who has since come out as gay and is vocally disappointed by this reaction.

Good on them for giving it a shot but they were mad if they didn't consider pushback from some of their players was a possibility. Folau is not an outlier in rugby.
Ah the religious bigots

Agreed - no issues with judging them. However, they should be allowed to sit out the match.

I also think things like the military, loony tunes and star wars should stay away as well. And most definitely gambling.

Not sure the Bulldogs need Lobb now with Ugle-Hagan coming good.
It's unlikely that Ugly Hagan starts performing like that every week. All of his other games have been shithouse. He's a second year KPF, he probably won't become consistent for another 2-3 years.

Lobb is very over-rated however. This is the only year he has performed consistently. I wouldn't pay more than a late first rounder for him.

Gold. Another traded in player who wants to be traded out a few years later.
They have a real problem with retention. That's Hill, Lobb and Hogan who have all bailed before their contracts were up.

Neale, Langford and Cerra all left for successful teams as well.

No wonder Peter Bell wants more feathers, he keeps losing his current ones.

So because they are standing out because of their beliefs its ok for them to be branded homophobes??
So inclusion doesn’t extend to their beliefs because it doesn’t align with what others support

By definition, yes. Unsure how it can be seen any other way?

Well no - because their beliefs aren't inclusive.

Whateley going from ABC to SEN was when it went downhill.

Needing 3 hours of content a day for his radio show has caused him to go from one of the more reasoned and thoughtful voices in the media, to an over the top sensationalist like the rest of them.

TBF, he kicked 3 goals the week before, but can't see what you're getting at. The Bulldogs also have Bruce coming back from a knee and as Keys said Darcy Jnr.

Reckon he'd be a better fit for Melbourne as part of the Jackson trade.

Yes, because their beliefs are homophobic.

Yes, when their beliefs are specifically excluding people. Also if they’re so sure of their conviction, fight the gambling sponsorship they wear every week. Stop trimming their beard. Don’t have tattoos.

Or just pick and choose and publicly reveal yourself as a massive homophobe.

Bloke probably thinks Elliotts goal was one of the greatest of all time ffs.

Can we just leave sport for sport, far out, why does all this other s**t have to come into it. No time for sporting codes trying to be the moral compass of the world.
Has sport ever actually been apolitical? I doubt it.

I don’t think a pride jumper or taking a knee is really an attempt at being a moral compass. It’s just trying to encourage people to have open minds and hearts. What a horrible thing to do. :)

Telling people they’re welcome at the football, a place that has been actively hostile towards many of them forever, is not a moral or political issue.

I might be wrong but wasn't the initial Olympics basically just a wank fest for the Roman emperor?

In any case sport has been political for a lot longer than the last few years. Hitler getting the Olympics to Berlin and Peter Norman on the podium for the Black Panther salute are two of many examples from yesteryear.

Ahhh the old your either 100% in or your not in at all cry…… gambling isn’t actually a sin, greed is but not everyone gambles to accumulate vast wealth..

Anyway probably best surmised by below

The answer to that is have a look at who is he working for…. He has totally wrecked that station since he took over.
