• Essendon making it known they were aggressively chasing Clarkson and being bullish about their prospects to key media
• Clarkson not saying much and him taking his time to make a decision being seen as reluctance to join North
• Norths history of missing out on big fish
• Journalists guessing he’d go the big club because that’s how the majority of the media think
Caro, and to be fair she wasn’t the only one, got sucked in by Essendon’s bravado and the preconception that the big club would win out because they naturally have more to offer
The reality was Essendon left it way too late, completely botched the approach and come out of this looking like the complete rabble that they are
She has good sources sure, but she’s just as prone to guessing as the next journo when a key piece of the puzzle- Clarkson in this instance- isn’t letting on
I never got the media's agenda to force Clarko to Essendon over the last week, Clarko said what I thought during the presser, it was way too late down the track for Essendon to even do anything considering how much work North and to an extent GWS put into him, and plus...ESSENDON STILL HAVE A F*CKING COACH!

Keys she has also had an obsessive pattern of slipping the boots into all things North Melbourne, for almost thirty years now.
She never misses an opportunity to hang shit on them, snipe the Clubs leaders, their Coaches and their Board Members.
Personally I cant stand her as a Journo, because she had a nasty habit of sitting on the grassy knoll with a sniper rifle, taking shots at people, that she is not fond of, she is the master of character assassination.
I am sure that growing up, with her father Ian Wilson, being the President of Richmond from 1974 -1985, a period through which, Richmond and North Melbourne had an fierce rivalry, I suspect that in her household, North Melbourne were perceived as the anti-christ and consequently, she has a deep seeded hatred for all things North.
Her reporting of issues and stories relating to North, over many years, have been tinged with a vindictive and disparaging slant.
She has often made it quite personal, it would have been hard for most neutral, to have not noticed her negative disposition to all things North Melbourne.
Some of her work is top class, but all too often, when she lets it get personal, her work gets sloppy, unnecessary offensive and obsessively derogatory.
