Without getting into a whole political thing, because I truly believe there are a lot of historical injustices, catching up is necessary and I broadly agree with increased representation etc.

I do think a lot of these more trivial fights intersect (the irony) with highly competitive fields, where representation or lack thereof has monetary and opportunity consequences.

But honestly and despite the hand-wringing and of course real issues, I think Australia does a lot better at integrating different cultures into society than most countries.

Indeed two of the better countries are also two of the countries most given to self-flagellation on the issue - Australia and the US (Canada and NZ also). The difference between Aus and Europe for example is pretty stark.
