I didn't hear Cometti's comments at the time being at the game, but that was exactly what it was. In fact, in the last quarter the game was becoming pretty violent. I distinctly remember the game because McAdam had seemed to do nothing and then ended up with 6 goals, but the shit started when Liberatore, who'd been sticking the knee's in all day finally got caught and it was just a street fight after that.

Remember when the siren went and one of the Footscray supporters jumped the fence behind the goals and sprinted towards McAdam who was walking towards the rooms. He got about 3m away from him and a security guard tackled him to the ground. McAdam kept walking, oblivious to how close he had come to copping one in the back of the head.

I'm actually curious to know whether anyone else saw that, if it happened today he would be banned for life and a debate about fencing out the crowd would certainly occur.
