Really?Love to see Essendon survive the past 26yrs like we have.
richmond only share gate reciepts with essendonCool.
not with how crappy the media write about us. if anything they are proberly trying to convert us to carlton.Looks like the Richmond bandwagon is in full force.
No the game is split for profit. Read an article about it some time ago...
Do you have foxtel? Not in bloody brisbane, we have swimming.
Already called channel 10, apparently they can't do it as the first one must be shown on FTA, yet it is shown at same time at 11.30pm.
Pathetic.
Amazing turn out considering it's a school night. Has a Rd 1 match ever been declared sold out before ?

Are we playing twice this season?
Let's hope both teams are still in the running and the Tiger fans can return the favour and boost our coffers too.
Didn't a lot of the bigger clubs use to share both gates for these games once upon a time?
Round 1 - Carlton home game = 72552
Round 14 - Richmond home game = 73503
I'm not sure what statistical basis there is for your contention but given we had greater crowd numbers than the Tigers in 2008, what you are suggesting would be an interesting anomaly.
I'd go with the personal perception explanation just quietly.
to think that there are people that are struggling to get a seat at this game yet on the night there might be a massive empty space in the mcc members stand.
Exactly. At every 'sell out' game last year (except for the GF), there were acres of empty seats up on the top deck in the forward pocket. MCC members hate sitting up there. If the MCC members aren't interested in sitting up there, open it up to the public - say 10,000 more seats.
I reckon there will be no more than 90,000 there Thursday night.
Collingwood,Carlton,Essendon & Richmond ALL split the gate 50/50 when playing one another, this has been the case since 2003.
Collingwood and Richmond once had a gate sharing deal going on. Right up until the tiges jumped ship a week before the game and decided to take all the money for themselves.
So went home and got one on the internet when i got home. Dont know how that works haha
