If the club made the call in their minds after 3 home and away wins before interviewing anyone else then we have our heads so arrogantly stuffed up our own asses and we are in trouble.

Sincerely hope a full due diligence wide net is cast at the end of the season.

I've said from the moment Dimma left we need a new voice outside the club, but I know the preference is to look within.
Yeah we don't need a kmart Dimmer.

My personal opinion is if you’ve never coached a team outright (AFL/State League) you should never be even considered. Being an Assistant nothing to being the main man and dealing with the issues that arise. And I don’t count caretaker coach in that category.

I don’t like this crap to players want him and like him all well and good , but the coach needs to remain a coach not get to close to the playing group.
Would rather players like their coach and feel they can approach him than not though. Not sure what your point is, it's not like Mini has the boys over for cards night each week.

Man Judson Clarke just has to go way harder than he does
At the game it was one thing that stood out to me. He shat the bed a few times.

He has some good traits though.

Tonight's game doesn't change anything from my stance on mini.

I've never been a fan of appointing caretaker coaches and it rarely works.

What Dimma did for us will probably never be repeated but the reality is, Mini will barely change anything because he's been part of the same system - and this system hasn't been great for the past 3 seasons.

All era's come to an end and we need to start a new era with new ideas. My fear is appointing Mini will be much of the same which has been stale since 2021.
Exactly how I am seeing things.

I'd say he had a lot to do with this system even when Dimma was here, as he is sticking by it, and it hardly appears he wants to try anything different

So much for the exhaustive process

Exactly. After all these games since Hardwick pulled the pin and who have we bought in new? Nobody.
Because the mentality is we can play finals from the club and fans disillusioned for me.The year should be about developing our kids and get game's into them who makes it and who doesn't.

I’m still staggered we fail to find a spot for young players
Banks been knocking the door the last month and Brown get him in they need games , but no we won 3 games against mediocre sides and we can play finals , missing the whole point using the year for development.

Interesting based on what. I look fwd to seeing how he responds at selection after last night’s performance.

Mini always going to pick the veterans and go with what he knows, the more wins on his resume’ gives him the best shot at the permanent job. Think it was hodgey that came out and said it on the radio. I’m all for going for wins as well but I couldn’t believe Pickett came straight back in, his form was poor leading into the off field stuff and banks has had a fantastic vfl season. I think we are strong enough to reward some of these guys whilst still pushing for wins against certain sides

The funny part is that those who have never forgiven him were VERY quiet through those successful years and have only really started piping up again this year. They were also quite happy to take the premierships and dine out on them as a Richmond supporter at the time. How anyone could be so pissed off with the coach who brought us out of the wilderness in such spectacular fashion is beyond me. But it's quite pathetic!
A positive out of it.He won't ever enjoy our premierships knowing who was in the coaches box.Its like knowing the ending to a thriller.
What a sad sack.

I think Mini was okay in the press conference but we need a rebuild.

This is nothing against these players rather its a positive as they would have some currency.

I would think about trading Lynch.

Trading Vlastuin possibly to the Bulldogs that are weak in defence.

Trade Prestia to Melbourne maybe who he supported as a kid.

Trade Baker to West Coast maybe.

Bolton is a little should we or not as he is a star unicorn type and a little younger so maybe not. Obviously need something really good to come back given age, talent and uniqueness

Broad we could trade if we get something decent

Graham is younger but he might have better opportunities elsewhere if we get something reasonable back. If not keep

Nank would have some currency but maybe keep him for leadership. If he left we could play the youngster Ryan and Soldo.

Dusty, well it is up to him whether he wants to have a crack somewhere else or play. Before I was reluctant to trade Dusty, which is up to him, and its nothing to do with Dusty, it is just I think our overall list might be further away from contention than I thought

This is not about these players rather the current list overall cannot be in contention in the next three years to me so what do these players want to do??

I am really reluctant to let Balta go due to age and what he offers. The other thing is with Taranto, Hopper and a few others the new players of youth need leadership and guidance to help them develop

That is just my view point, others will not agree, which is fine but that how I see it

So instead if writing I am talking crap, play Sonsie, play Brown and others and lets see where the youth in our list are at against better opposition and lets have a focus on development!!

I may sound selfish here but this is why I dont want to see Dimma caoch anyone else, he is a Richmond man and it still hurts me that he resigned but last thing i want to see is him in the opposite coaches box against us.

Mate he gave us 13.5 seasons and success I could never dream of. He can do what he wants. I’d rather him in the game than not
