I consider making it as contending, even if we were never winning the flag.
I think Dimma deserves a lot of credit for getting is from what we were in 2010, to finals in 2013, even if we lost to a team that didn't even qualify.
Quitting the club? or standing down fairly early in his 13th season, when the team was playing poorer than expected.I focus on the 3 flags under his reign as coach. Personally IDGAF what he does in his private life.
But when asking the general question, it's hard not to focus on the type of man who would walk away from a seemingly good marriage and family first and foremost. Then comes the matter of quitting the club that supported and assisted him to achieve his goals because he was burnt out. Only to have him jumping out of his skin indicating he wants to coach again ONLY one month later.
I judge people based on my own values and beliefs. And in this instance my conclusions of the man are not very favourable.
Why so defensive? Your behaviour is personal and trying to protect Dimma for his behaviour? True RFC supporters don't behave like this as they would look for reasons why a 3x premiership coach would contemplate resigning after round 5 and then resign r10 bc of of burn out and then weeks later want to coach again. You're behaviour suggests you're not a RFC supporter, but a Dimmer supporter . You're coronation date on here suggests and supports it.Disgraceful thing to post.
But not surprising.
Not in the slightest. He knew his time was done with us, so walked away, when he could have just stayed and 'phoned in' the rest of the season.A little off topic here but is anyone else annoyed that hardwick will probably be coaching next year (With GC most likely) I mean, if you were just going to take a short break then why go to another club? why not take some leave a recoup? was there maybe an issue with the playing group or staff that hasn't been mentioned, all this talk of loving the club and the playing group to just go to another club less than a year later doesn't sit well with me and I feel a little betrayed.
Would you have preferred he fulfill the terms of his contract , I was his no 1 fan and I’m glad he pulled the pin , we were on a road to nowhere and I’d lost faith in his ability to pull us back up , good luck to him, I honestly care little how he goes , I just don’t want him to pull dusty with him , that would rile meI focus on the 3 flags under his reign as coach. Personally IDGAF what he does in his private life.

Well said13 years at punt road. Recruited well in the off season but team underperforms. He said his message just wasn't getting through.
You want to reflect on Hardwick's marriage break up fine. I could give a f+k. How many marriages break up? 50%. I reflect on 3 flags in his era. 37 year drought broken. The club transformed out of basket case level.
Amazing effort by everyone involved. Board, coaches players fans. Hardwick's success exceeds the coaching efforts of most of these guys. Bar Hafey. Northey was a great player, good coach but f++d us up with his resignation. We f++d Jewell cos we thought Bourke was going to be a messiah.
anyhow, the way the soft cap is going Hardwick was taking a huge chunk of that. Never seen a Richmond coach actually step down. Die on his sword.
Resigning rather than being sacked means Hardwick has freed up our soft cap. Pretty noble act I my book
Good luck up the gold coast. Going to need it.
I agree that Mini looks the goods
All well and good why would we care of their prospects ,,, for mine they’re very good and getting better with access to 3 top flight academy kidsNot in the slightest. He knew his time was done with us, so walked away, when he could have just stayed and 'phoned in' the rest of the season.
He's stepped away and has had a chance to complete freshen up. No surprise that after a few weeks away he has found that he may want to get back into the game, he's life has revolved around football for over 25 years.
But the issue is, he needs to see exactly what the Suns situation is. Just how well is their list and club positioned to become a genuine contender. Sure they have some talented kids, but they also have a lot of holes that need to be filled.
Given the current position they find themselves in, its not like they're a top contender who has had a bad year. They're a legit bottom half of the table side, so does Hardwick really want to go through a 3-5 year build, just to get them in contention for the finals, at a club that doesn't necessarily have the same sort of support in place that he had when building the list and culture at Richmond?
My point is everyone think Hardwick to Suns is done and dusted, I'm not so sure. Like I said once he gets to take a good look at the club and the list, he may actually decide that it's not for him.All well and good why would we care of their prospects ,,, for mine they’re very good and getting better with access to 3 top flight academy kids
Perhaps , but I reckon that’s a small risk , I’d suggest he’s 90% thereMy point is everyone think Hardwick to Suns is done and dusted, I'm not so sure. Like I said once he gets to take a good look at the club and the list, he may actually decide that it's not for him.
Benny pulled the pin Bo.Would you have preferred he fulfill the terms of his contract , I was his no 1 fan and I’m glad he pulled the pin , we were on a road to nowhere and I’d lost faith in his ability to pull us back up , good luck to him, I honestly care little how he goes , I just don’t want him to pull dusty with him , that would rile me
It'd be good and bad news if Dimma went to the Suns.
Good news - one less team competing with us in the market for the best available coach. Suns probably the least detestable and least threatening option insofar as other clubs are concerned.
Bad news - potential of Dimma to lure one or more of our assistant coaches north.
With my vote Leppa out, Between Mini and Carr for me.
I think it’s just played out how it’s played outStarting to look a bit like what I thought earlier in the thread.
Hardwick has received a good offer from Suns, probably loaded up further by the AFL. His manager and he have spoken to Richmond about it. Richmond not in any position to match term or salary. They have all decided together the best course of action is Dimma to resign due to burnout and not being able to think of any more ways to cook the sausages. Tigers can save money on next coach which might allow an extra coach or extra soft cap spending so we don't burn our jet High Performance Lukey Meehan man out. Suns get their man, AFL therefore delighted. If Suns had been making offers while Dew was still coaching then he was gonzo anyway, so even he has no cause to be aggrieved with this part of the scenario.

You’re correct, some don’t.No just pointing pot his record i guess some don't like facts.
List is essentially the same as it was in 2016/2017 with established talent and a group of young guns ready to step up like Miller and AinsworthNot sure why you think its bad
They have a great young list and are about to add 3 x top 10 kids
With Dimma coaching they will be a top 4 team within 3 years
Rowell , Anderson , Humphreys , Ballard , Miller , Witts , King , lukosius , Andrews , Hollands , Ainsworth etc
\Plus a 4/5 year deal on $$$$
Living in beautiful suuny gold coast with a young GF and having the kids fly up for school hollidays
What a Life
Funny. On SEN today, Dwayne was talking about Hardwick and bought up 2016. He said the club and the leadership never waivered on supporting Hardwick. It was only external noise. There was obviously a challenge to the board, but the actual people in place never stopped supporting Dimma. Worked out pretty well.Facts are we were a rebuilding team when we took over.
We were never winning flags in between those years.
Did support help Hardwick? of course, but suggesting it was all because of the support and nothing to do with Hardwick is simply delusional.
And I’m gullible.Starting to look a bit like what I thought earlier in the thread.

Anyone who has a little bit of life experience and a couple of jobs know that people who feel safe in the job they are in and respected and backed in by the higher ups do a better job (assuming they are doing a good job in the first place of course)Funny. Agree, but i gotta say, this Harwick/GC has similar feels to Lyon and the Saints.Anyone who has a little bit of life experience and a couple of jobs know that people who feel safe in the job they are in and respected and backed in by the higher ups do a better job (assuming they are doing a good job in the first place of course)
Spend some time around a company that have reapers doing the rounds and talk of redundancy and cost cutting get thrown up productivity takes a hit
Even from the best workers because they go into self preservation mode
The workplace becomes divided and clicks form
Instead of a boat with all the rowers rowing in the same direction it becomes a sinking ship with everyone trying to work out an exit strategy
