Im not really to fussed which is the new coach Yze / McWalter
I would have liked a change and Newman would have been nice but not meant to be
Grigga as an assistant would have been great but clearly he believes he has more to learn under hardwick and maybe he will be our future coach in 3-4 years if the new incoming coach doesnt work out

Im more interested in the new assistants and who they may be , Blake doesnt look like he wants to be the main man so maybe we could get him to assist Mini/Yze

But it does look like its a thorough process with good people making the call and they would have all the required info to make that call

It is what it is / It is who it is

He was the bottom of the barrel of our assistants with X .
I ranked them

Caracella for game plan and ball movement
Fly bc of his younger player development and rapport
Leppa defensive craft and coaching
Kingsley came in fourth only bc he arrived in 19 when we were already up and running, but he has got GWS rolling along nicely and it wouldn’t surprise me if they knock Collingwood off.
i remember quite well some of your scathing posts during 2016 when you basically had mainly hardwick but also mcrae as well as peggy and benny in the 'get rid of them asap' category.

caracella pretty much was good at following orders and agreeing with dimma and balmy. we didn't miss a beat when he left for more coin and less travel time

And so was 87% of the board as that was the highest the number of people wanting him sacked , it got reduced as we improved in 2017 as people changed their vote. DH was at Harvard whilst Caracalla and co had the boys flying . The joke at the time was Dimwit was training the team with his new game plan on Skype. Incredible how we slowly turned to shit once all these great assistants left and the three stooges were left with a couple of extra failed coaches. The sausage couldn’t cook the snag a 1001 times. 😂
PS: Why did the club spend $100,000's of dollars on a review, sack all the assistants and make other expensive changes to FD if everything was all ok?

What do you call someone who ignores history?
Denialism is an essentially irrational action that withholds the validation of a historical experience or event when a person refuses to accept an empirically verifiable reality.

Isn't mini on the record saying when he took over all the players and coaches had a meeting and mini asked if they wanted to change the gameplan and the players voted no?

Mini may have fresh ideas for 2024 and beyond but no one really knows outside of those in the coaching interviews.

Yze or Mini I'm not fussed either way but it's clear from finals that teams are tapping into something special that we/Richmond created.

Correct the game plan you saw was not minis

Players didn't want change nor did Livingstone and Hartley as they felt we were still finals chance

Now that mini has the job on a full time basis he can bring in his ideas and concepts he will have a huge focus on skill hence his desire to bring in Lenny hayes

Minibus had 12 weeks at it and didn’t play the best 22 and was trying to play the game plan he’s been accustomed to since Blake devised it. He had no vision into next year or beyond and that’s why he should be politely shown the door with a big thank you for everything he’s done. I don’t think he can take us any further with our list and the same game plan.
We need creativity now with better fitness and conditioning. JGTI triggering an extension with Kmac is already a bad start to next year and hopefully a new face can reinvent them as mini showed he was unable to.
Aren’t you the same bloke demanding he play kids like Coulthard after one reserves game etc all through this thread making our eyes bleed reading it? Absolutely hypocritical stuff from you.

Do you think Mini would drop someone like Grimes who had a terrible year this year?

What are people’s thoughts on Lambert’s position does he stay in Mini’s old assistant coaching job he took over when Dimma left or does he go back to being a development coach?

Also if Mini doesn’t get the job and he and X leave does that mean we will likely need 2 assistants plus a head coach?

Hardwick won flags as his coaching group got poached, moved on. History shows us that’s what happens at successful clubs. Hardwick turned Leppas career around when he was sacked from Brissy. And he has now produced 2 current day coaches who have now successfully coached their ways into a prelim. Outstanding stuff by Dimma.

100% if gibcus was available Grimes would of been tapped on the shoulder

I will be shocked if Grimes plays more then 3 games next year

Lambert will be an amazing coach. We actually saw improvement in the midfield when he took over full time. That doesn’t bode well for mini.

I would love him to stay on and take that role over full time. Part of me also wants him to coach his own side, so take on our vfl program at some stage as well but he’s a top class guy and super smart. Bit like Grigga I think he’s a future coach.

On mini and x, if Yze is the coach we need some new assistants and I wouldn’t cry if they departed. Depends on who Yze brings in with him.

I would also like to see some Tigers return in other roles. Daniel Jackson in leadership type role he’s doing at the Crows. Shane Edwards in a recruiting role and indigenous mentor role. Paddy Steinfort, yes the travelling man, done an amazing job in his career, bring him in to do similar. Hard to take him from the FFA but as it wouldn’t be a footy role we wouldn’t be governed by the soft cap here.

definitely, but Grimes, JGTI, kmAC and PICKETT WERE BASICALLY ALL PLAYED UNTIL THE END AND SUDDENLY FOR THE LAST GAME 2 WERE DROPPED. I know you went into hibernation after you were proven so you probably missed out on a lot of the events that followed. Pretty well contradicted everything you were forecasting. lol

That contradicts everything that happened prior to 2017 and after 2020. Gale saved THE SAUSAGE as in reality he should've been sacked. The flag was won by the assistants and Balme's crafty trade work .

The coach asking the players if they wanted to change the game plan is already a red flag. Sounds like the players were dictating the coach and a case of the tail wagging the dog. IT ALSO SHOWS OUR PLAYERS LACK CREATIVITY and willingness to change to fresh ideas. We've become stale and a boys club. Pathetic it's gotten to this. BYE BYE MINI

So you contradicted yourself in the first sentence of the response. After the Port game (his first one), he rotated a heap of kids through the team.
And when he drops the plyers you mentioned at the end, you’re still unhappy with it even though you wanted it.
I went into hibernation because of family, work, out of work commitments. Only so many hours in the day. And i have clearly missed nothing. Thank f….. i have a life. I have been between 2 seasons. I’m president of a cricket club and we’re gearing up for a new season on top of a league merge and my kids had finals on with footy and I volunteer and help out there.
Blake Carracella left Richmond in 2019? So you’re telling me we win another 2 flags after he goes and in 2023 Mini is coaching Blakes plan? Remark observations from you. Have a great day. I got social rooms to go clean up and set up.

[UR unfurl="true"]Study: Half of people "remember" events that never happened[/URL]
History tells $100, 000 a 2016 review by Ernest Young. Mistake 1. Any idiot knows PWC are the go to consultant
Anyhow a combination of Balme, New assistant coaches and 4 new players IN.

Caracella came from Geelong so game plan credit to Geelong?
2017 to 2020, 3 flags. Kudos to all. COVID meant cuts to asst coach wages. Ridiculous policy by the AFL, coincided with Hardwick salary on the rise.
2021 crap result ladder finish. Under whelming..dusty injured for the first time.

Small forward pressure dropped off.
Stand rule not considered? Dunno, but our game style of conceding free kicks started to work against us. Then the dissent thing came in and Lynch gets a 50m against for raising an eyebrow at the umpire.
List wise.
2 GWS players in didn't work. But Dee's stuff up with Grundy.
2023 role players still getting selected didn't help. No KPF depth.
I think Hardwick out of the club is a positive.
But drafting team is bringing in Coulthard types.
A bit messy mid season resignation.

I'm just a fan. No club connection here.
I don't really care who coaches.
The dimma era was 3 flags, 7 years. In 2023 a revamped coaching team. Probably the same at lots of clubs.

Lynch back should improve us.

Waste of a list spot then , he fell of a cliff

Not really we need him for cover while he can also do some coaching save money on the soft cap

I think there's more chance someone from outside the club is more likely to make those hard calls. Think we need a clean slate.
Disagree whoever we take is only going to get 3 years so they will not be going down the play the kids role

Heck yze interview was all about how we still have a brilliant list just need to add a couple of delisted free agents and we will be fine

I fully agree we need a rebuild but what coach is going to play the sacrificial lamb

interesting to see what happens mini or Yze. Change would be the correct way to go.
