Who knows. Leppa would know exactly why and how the pies are humming right now. Would be some great Intel.

The players seemed to love him when he was here as they do at the pies, plus he seems to be a great tactician. He has great experience as senior coach and now as assistant coach at two dominant clubs. What more could you want?
Can't hurt to enquire his availabilty besdes he's better than both truck and teague imo.

Grigga or newy would be two you’d have a look at , grigga not coaching own team at all won’t help his cause , newy won a flag at box hill . Still I think experience preferred
nah newy never won a flag when he played . big no no for me

we should only look at coaches who won both a flag when they were playing/ and as assistants and reckon the club will do just that like they did with dimma

grigg was there for our rebuild, won a flag, was there for 19 , then was at the scats when they lost to us in 20 and when they won in 22

Get whoever is the best fit. Don't fall into the trap of chasing a name for the sake of landing a name because we're a big club.

This presents an opportunity for someone who can come in and take the reigns of a rebuild and make their own history.

No point in someone trying to emulate what Hardwick has done.

No idea at this stage who we should go for.
What will be interesting is if McQualter is successful and gets us to the finals.

Once bitten twice shy if that was to happen again
the only way maqualter would get the gig is if we won the flag this year 🤣 even if he gets us to finals there is zero chance he gets appointed after unleash the geisch happened 🤣

How could we possibly know that? Bit of water under the bridge since he coached lions.
Agree, incredibly simplistic to form that view based on something more than 6 years ago - and has since been involved in multiple premierships in a similar role.

Following a dynasty with a rookie coach has NEVER worked , in fact failed dismally, only success was Chris Scott however youd argue the list had a lot of life left in it

Hafey ,,,Barry richardson
jeans ,, Peter knights
sheedy ,,, Matthew knights
matthews,,,, Michael Voss

all seemed like a good ideas at the time
tony jewell 🏆

I’m not sure who, but I am really hoping we go towards a modern coach that will approach a game plan best suited towards football nowadays. The game has changed so much in the last couple of years and we need a forward thinker to transition the list and game plan going forward.
they will get rid of the stand rule now after this season

nothing surer

SSSSSSHHhhhhh...this is the whole point of Dimma retiring...it's a ruse to fool the AFL...then when they get rid of 'the stand rule' BANG Dimma is incoming!

Where is this Hinkley talk coming from...? WTF lol

We are a professional outfit at Tigerland. We'll select the best available person, and I'm confident that person will be able to succeed.

I have no idea who is the right person for the job. But there are a few good names out there.

Think Hinkley is just being mentioned because his contract is up at port and he was in the running when Hardwick took over so just people creating links

Similar to me suggesting Simpson who I personally rate but at the end of the day all I really want the club to do is take its time and find the best person available

We are earlyish in the season so may as well just let Middy take the rest of the year as caretaker and use that time to assess the landscape properly and have a robust process to get the right person for the job next year

not sure we need to go again, our kids are shite and our cooked stars will be gone

we need a full rebuild dimma style if we want more sustained success imo
8 year rebuild?

We need more than a coach. We need new assistants and a completely rejuvenated FD. Kids could be still ok like at end of 2016, but withbnew people, new ideas and better fitness staff we could rise again like Hannibal.
I think you mean Rise again like Lazarus
