Just bought the Season Collection at JB's. Bargain at $87. There were 4 left at the Thomastown store.

Looks like there will be no cricket being watched this year in our household..

Let us know how the DVD picture quality is please.

After the Premiers DVD shemozzle I'm reluctant to pull the trigger on buying from this mob again.

What exactly does the victory pack contain? The jb website says elimination final which we did not play in, qualifying, prelim and a highlights package.
So Grand Final not on there at all?
Thankfully I have Foxtel and have them anyway.

After seeing the sale I thought it’s too good to pass. So on a whim I bought the season box set this morning.

At first looking at it I thought the packaging looks nice. It’ll fold out and be a great collectors item. **** no. It’s literally just a thin box with 10 or so cheap dvd covers (ones you get from $2 shop for 10c) dumped inside.

Ok so packaging ain’t fancy but at least I have the best season to enjoy and cherish forever...

I knew the quality wouldn’t be as good when watching on a HD tv but assumed it’s at least watchable like any other DVD. My god as soon as I put it in my blu-ray player I knew I made a huge mistake. It’s possibly the worst DVD I have ever seen. It’s 10x worst then what I expected. Just a bunch of pixels moving around the screen.

I feel absolutely sick wasting $87 on something that’s not even worth $5. I won’t be watching this ever, unless I travel to the dump and pick up my old analog tv and DVD player.

For those who have a HD or higher tv, I highly recommend not getting this even when it’s on sale. I wish I stuck to my instinct and just avoided it. Unfortunately the sale got me.

FYI the audio sync is fine on both DVD and blu-ray.

Sorry for the rant. Had to warn fellow peeps who care about these sort of things.

Sorry to hear but thank you very much for the rapid feedback for the rest of us. Sounds exactly like the Premiers DVD quality.

I won't waste my money and will back-up my saved games so I never lose them and have to revert to sourcing that subpar rubbish.

Is the complete season pack an official AFL product?
If so amatuer hour again from Gil and his cohorts.

Look it’s totally up to the individual. For me I wasn’t expecting HD as I know it’s only DVD. I thought it’ll be on par with standard definition channels. IMO it’s worse. Even the old VHS of the 1980 grand final my dad recorded looks better on my tv.

Personally I think it depends on what tv you have. If HD and over 32 inches it’s gonna look shit.

If you can somehow get a copy and judge for yourself before the sale ends tonight then I’d suggest that. Or you can just risk the $87. Not sure of JB’s return policy. Pretty sure they won’t accept returns unless it’s faulty. Anyone know?

Yes it’s an official afl product made by a company called Beyond HE.

It looks and feels like a bootleg copy off the streets.

Does the seaosn pack have alternate radio commentaries for the games? Or just the in finals games.

I’ll let you know later on if I can bring myself to it. Pretty certain it’s only for the grand final though. They have at least included the properly synced version.

Good shop the one in Thomastown i go there 5 days a week for work

Would the Blu-Ray be safe to buy? No point if I have to send it back. Really want to try the different audio out

OK - I have watched the GF on DVD from the Collector's pack, and I'm unimpressed. Given I'm watching it on my PC monitor, and not the typical home movie setup, you would expect it to be of reasonable quality. To put it bluntly, the 1980 Grand Final DVD is better quality. I had to double check to see it it is an AFL approved product. It is - the outside packaging has the AFL emblem. The outside packaging is good. The actual DVD covers look like they were from the seconds bin at the $2 shop. When returning the GF DVD into the cover, it is so cheap I broke a plastic tab. Really poor quality.

I've not seen the other content, but the major reason of buying the pack was to watch the games with my son, so for $87, I'm not getting too carried away. To me, it is the same quality as the AFL website videos. You get what you pay for. At least the box set itself will look good in the games room.

I’m not sure if the single blu-ray stock has been updated to the corrected version.

If you do buy it from JB or Sanity etc. and it’s not synced then you can email ‘Beyond HE’ and ask for a replacement disc. You WON’T have to send the dodgy version back, you keep it, so you’ll end up with 2 discs.

All you need is proof of purchase (receipt) and your post details. Think the email is info@beyondhe.com.au

Just double check that email. It’s been posted in this thread a couple of times.

Can confirm only the Grand Final has the alternate radio calls.
