Yeah I had
Sorry not sure how to measure the bitrate? Any way I can find out?

If it’s any help I reckon what Foxtel replay is way better than what Sven broadcast live. So that’s why I’m comparing it to Foxtel.

Nah, I'm not an AV guy. I have to agree re: Foxtel vs. 7HD also. I have Foxtel and recorded the live game from 7HD and then a replay from Fox Footy HD the next day. The Fox Footy copy is definitely clearer with less artifacting, clearer all round.

I was hoping that the Bluray might have been taken from a master source recording, but it sounds like it was just taken from one of the broadcasted versions. Nobody at Beyond, Richmond FC and especially the AFL will probably comment though, they really don't give a shit about the quality of these products.

Spot on. I did exactly the same as you. I suggest keep the recorded versions til you get a copy of blu Ray then decide for your self which is better.

It does feel they’ve gone the cheap route. It looks like it’s been sharpened more to look higher res compared to the natural look on fox footy. Though this could be caused by the different settings between my channel sources. Either way I ain’t deleting my recordings.

Do you have a VHS player so you can watch it?
No unfortunately. But I'm sure I have a box full of old VHS tapes that, for some brunchy reason, I haven't thrown out yet.

It's pretty bloody easy, i have only basic editing skills but I put together a version at home that its perfectly synced.
Can you show the clowns who put the DVD together how to do it?

Serious?

Is it just the premiership DVD or was it one of the packs?

Radio calls in sync with the play and everything.
Just the DVD...I don’t give a shit about the radio being synced or not. Wasn’t that far out of whack and the message doesn’t change....Tigers are Premiers - YELLOW AND BLACK. You couldn’t wipe the smile from my face watching it.

I didn't really mind when I brought my version at the family day, 18 hours or so after the end of the game - in fact was impressed enough they managed to produce and manufacture a DVD in that time.

However given they're had more time for the blu-ray it's pretty unforgivable given that it is not hard to sync them (can be a little time consuming but would only take a couple of hours max).

Looking for some advice.

Was just about to grab a copy of the DVD and read 2/2 reviews on the JB Hi-Fi website saying quality isn't the best.

This was one remark:
"The quality is poor and loses focus when camera is further from the play as if copied from the afl smart replay. While watchable, its blurry and a little pixelated. Disappointed as was looking forward to great quality tv to rewatch the tigers win."

Anyone had any experience yet?
Does the DVD come with any extras that are worth paying for?

Otherwise i'll simply download a HD version as well as the pregame stuff etc.

Thoughts?
do you, or does anyone else know where i can get a link to watch / download the full game... im talking banner, anthem, coin toss... not the crappy condensed foxtel go 'on demand' garbage.

thanks in advance...

You might just need to buy the DVD unfortunately. It does include players running on, banner, anthem, power stance, our laughing at the power stance and the coin toss.

I’ve got the blu ray. Picture quality is pretty much same as Fox Footy HD. Says it’s in 1080p.

Radio calls out of sync between 1-3 secs. Though you can still hear the saltiness in their voices, realising they have to commentate a Richmond premiership!
If you don't mind me asking where did you get it? JB Hifi? Sanity?
I know it's due out any day now but i can't be assed going there only to find they don't have it lol

Whether it's the Blu-ray or the DVD, not having the radio calls properly in synch is pathetic. Amateur stuff.
Totally agree I watched it once on dvd with the triple M commentry & since then have just gone back to watching it on IQ
