sHORT BEFORE rIOLI AS that's still wrong as Rioli has achieved more and is a much better player.

Interesting observation. Seems like some recency bias maybe. And based off this year alone no doubt rioli was much better.

But to say he has achieved more when the only achievement both have is 1x best and fairest each.

One of them was in a premiership year. The other was in a year where the team broke the record for most losses ever recorded by an AFL team and majority of the best players were decimated by injury.

Short and Rioli pretty well average the same in Ratings, but Short is on the decline and DAN on the up. Rioli also has the extra flag so he imho should be in before Short.

Grand finals was another one I wanted to bring up. Rioli averaged less than 10 touches and only had 1 goal in 3 grand finals. Short averaged 22 touches and came 2nd in norm smith medal for 2020 grand final.

THAT'S ALSO CRAP AS if it wasn't for a young Dan in 2017 PF we POSSIBLY wouldn't have made the GF. Dan played as a small forward in all three which was a tough gig and in 17 he also rucked in patches with Griggs. Short plays in the easiest position on the ground as a receiver and unaccountable one. Dan has eclipsed him in that spot. It should be over every game over their currennt careers and Dan leaves Short for dead as a HBF and small forward in his days as Short would be a bigger liabilty as a SF as he lacks all defensive traits.
