I seen that welcher post he did with his footy tips, said he'd leave Bigfooty if Melbourne beat Gold Coast lol. Hasn't left yet
I loved how sincere he was in the who will finish higher out of Richmond/Collingwood/Carlton thread

Good clubs don't lose players they want to keep. Rance is going nowhere.

We have just 14 players on our list who were at the club prior to the 2010 draft, and five of them were taken in 2009.
You guys have traded/used free agency and utilised the rookie list regularly though, it hasn't all just been through the compromised drafts mate.

Houli, Maric, Petterd, Knights, Chaplin, Miles, Hunt, Thomas etc, you've done well in finding some gems like Maric and Miles I guess. You've delisted a few too also used for similar purposes like Stephenson, Aaron Edwards, Lonergan, Miller

That's right. We've been smart and resourceful. That's why it pisses me off so much when Melbournites have begged for a priority pick.

We've done a little bit of that but our recruits have all been young with potential upside etc 2-3 preseasons already under their belts. I guess once we move up the ladder having a Matt Thomas type on the rookie list will be the norm.

Sam Lloyd could be a long term player, smart goal sense about him, we have Tory Dickson who has similar abilities infront of goal.

Looks like a certain poster is still sore over our board's brutal rejection of his ridiculous trade scenario in which we hand you an established gun in Dahlhaus for a low-functioning invalid in Vickery, and has taken to dressing us down in a series of ball-achingly dull posts on how we've got no future.

You know who you are. Got any other bright ideas for us? :D

West Coast tanked in 2010; we finished 2nd-last after losing our first 9 games and got pick 6.

Martin was in the same draft as Butcher, as were Griffiths, Carlisle, Black, Astbury, Sam Reid and Vardy, all talls better than Butcher. Port had two top-10 picks and pissed them away on Butcher and Andrew Moore. Port also got Polec, pick 5 in 2011, because he was a mummy's boy and they bent Brisbane over.

You only have Macrae because GWS took Ward. Your decline being accelerated helped you get higher draft picks just in time for the first uncompromised drafts.

No one's done it tougher than us!

NO ONE! :fire:

That's true - you have done it tough.

However, Richo, it's like this:

Tiges gave us #19 for Sanchez. We drafted Ward with #19. We got #6 for Ward. We took MaCrae with #6.

Sanchez plays Santa like no-one else! :)

Of course, the big difference is that our good players stay.

First para of the first post of the WCE 'positives and negatives' thread.

"Let me start off by saying that I don't think we really learned too much out of tonight. To my eye, that game played out more like an elimination final than a bottom of the table clash - which is consistent with how I evaluate us at the start of 2015 - around 8th. For me the story out of tonight's game was the Bulldogs and how they played with such skill and intensity despite missing some key personnel. I can't vouch for whether they will sustain that over the course of the season but for me they looked every bit a top six side. We played them away and were bested."

Seems it wasn't so bad because it was an elimination final standard and the bullies are a top-6 side.

Respectfully, do any bulldogs fans seriously consider themselves a top-6 side?

Talk about stretching...

That WCE poster is a fanboy!

Why would we want Dahlhaus, we have McDonough?

Can't recall if I've seen him on this fred yet. I won't name and shame him, but for everyone who's playing along I'll give you an idea who it may be ;):rainbow:

Sanchez was a dud but he kicked the winning goal in 2009 against Melbourne. It handed Melbourne a priority pick and we would have probably ended up with Scully or Trengrove.

Instead we had pick 3 and took Martin.

So with those series of events and your (bent) logic, I'd take Martin over MaCrae every day of the week.

You have to ask yourself.... Why do all the best Bulldogs players leave?

Griffen, Cooney, Ward, Harbrow... Who's next?

Ahh, while we view success as WINNING grand finals.

Sadly we haven't been successful in way too long, but we've still done it 5 times since your last/only success.

Hey, we won the VFL flag last year, thus completing our three-peat of 1923-24-2014.

Martin is a gun..........until the chips are down and he gets tired. Poor Dusty.
