Right now, Richmond deserve to be premiership favorites

is there a H&A win held in such regard to a supporter base then the WC beating the Tigers in a rare win. By the rate in how often your group mentions that win, you would think you won a grand final lol.

For the record That was your only win at our home ground in our 6 matches. However, we have beaten you on your deck twice. Also that was your first win against us in our last 3 meetings :) but lets not let facts get in the way of a good story :p

Guess we won't be meeting you guys any time soon, so it will have to stay at one win out of our last 6.

Unsocialable Tigers, LOL

To be fair if the Tiges can make it through the first week of finals they are every chance as they seem to get themselves up for the best teams!

Those pesky 5th-onwards teams though...

i don't think they deserve to labelled premiership faves just yet, but their form suggests that they deserve a top 4 finish. hopefully they can get there and see the excitement generate.
not sure if its a flaw, but they still rely heavily on their top 4-5 players bringing it which is no different to a lot of sides. but if 1 or more were to get injured they would come back to the pack a fair bit imo.

Perhaps the fairest assessment in the thread so far. Mind you most teams fall away a bit when their best player isn't available, but based on tonight (and their run of poor form earlier in the season), Richmond seem particularly vulnerable in this area. We'd miss Mitchell greatly if he didn't play, but I doubt it would create the gulf between last week and this week that we saw tonight with Richmond.

I was stoked last week. Really thought it meant something.

Now... lucky to win an elimination final... if we make it.

Need Deledio, Cotchin and Martin at their best to beat good teams. May sound like the bleeding obvious but I think Tiges rely on their best players more than most other top 6 teams. Don't bat very deep.

Difference between tonight and recent efforts marks it as an anomaly. Crows also were not the same side as last week.

Richmond beat Hawthorn.
Hawthorn smashed Sydney.
Sydney smashed Adelaide.
Adelaide beat Richmond.

What the hell is going on with this season?

These losses don't matter, remember. They beat Sydney in Sydney, Freo in Perth and Hawthorn. They'll win the flag from 11-7.

We're not as far off as tonight suggests, nor as close as we looked last week. Don't think any sensible Richmond supporter has suggested otherwise.

What's happening is we've got a ripping season where at least five sides could feasibly win the flag. No clear runaway best side. People forget Brisbane won the flag in 2003 with only 14 wins in the H&A season. I think we've got something similar this year.

Still think Hawthorn are streets ahead. Your ladder position doesn't reflect your form because you dropped a couple of games you should have won early (Essendon, GWS) and have had a way tougher draw than Freo.

Only Hawthorn are totally shellacking Top 4 teams who are their main competition for the flag. We'll know better by tomorrow night.
