Right now, Richmond deserve to be premiership favorites

They have lost to - Bulldogs, Geelong, North, Eagles, Fremantle (but also beat them earlier) , Adelaide .........and Melbourne :$, and have beaten the other sides they have played including Hawks and Sydney
This suggests that they deserve to be where they are on the ladder

True. The ladder doesn't lie. I'm extremely interested in seeing how WC match up against the Dogs and Fremantle over the next few weeks now they have lost to the Hawks. That should tell us exactly where they are at

I'm more interested in the Adelaide game to be honest :thumbsu:
I'll be stunned if we beat Freo, and almost equally stunned (just in the negative way) if we don't beat the dogs at home. I'm hoping we can maintain our 100% Adelaide Oval record but am not at all confident about the Adelaide game. It's a genuine 50-50, unlike those other 2 games.

Does Champion data have stats for mental strength and heart? And that only considers the one game. Hawthorn were by the far the better team all year and you can console yourself by saying you should have won as much you want. You didn't. You didn't lead at any stage of the game. The Hawks did not crumble under your pressure. Anytime you got close we broke away again and at 31 points up with ten to go in a dour affair it was done, there was no coming back. Two junk time goals don't matter. Hawks were in control after that big bastard of a Smith goal.

You said 'clearly'. I provide solid evidence that this is not the case.

You then rant.

Sure, you proved your point there.

Richmond aren't Premiership favourites at all. 8-5th at best

Hawks are and remain favourites with good reason.

100% correct. You won't find Richmond fans stating anything otherwise either. The only people making that assertion is either opposition supporters trolling or the media build us up so the inevitable fall provides an even greater outcry. I feel Richmond are a 5th place team - close but not a contender yet despite our current ladder positioning. The exciting thing for me though is that we are building off the back of a mix of relatively youthful experience and a greater consistent output from our recruits.

Hawks are deserving favourites but if our win over them proved anything - no team is unbeatable :thumbsu:

Which of the current top 5 are you guys better than?

Touched up the Dockers, Swans, Port and the Pies.
Right now, their best is better than anyone, with perhaps only Hawthorn to rival them and their recent form against the Hawks is great.

Remind me of Brisbane 2001.
Looking at their draw they will win all of their remaining games and finish top 2.

Discuss.
Aren't you glad you started this?

We have the capacity to dismantle any of the current top 5 teams as has been proven. Hawks, Swans and Freo will shit themselves if they have to play us in a final. The Bulldogs would fancy themselves being a bit of a bogey team but overconfidence and playing a switched on Richmond rather than the flat version they normally play will probably bring them right undone. Ditto for Norf. Hawks still clear favorites for the big one at this stage though.

When was it proven that you have the capacity to dismantle either bulldogs or west coast? Both beat you at the MCG.

That is actually a good question.

I would not say who are we better then, that is to simplistic as all teams have injuries, drop in form etc. How will i answer it is this way, at our best, on our best day, our best is better then WC and the Dogs. Now before you or anyone else rants or raves about that, the reason i state that is that the tigers have knocked over both the Hawks and Fremantle, a feat both WC and the Dogs have failed at so far this year.

WC got us at the right time.

On the bulldogs, there coached went in with a plan and pulled hardwicks pants down. They played a game similar to soccer, i was actually more happy to see the innovation after the game then i was the loss. What they did was every time we tried to chain up possession they would give a professional free kick away in the back half, I believe they gave away a staggering 30 plus free kicks in that game.

Could they repeat that again this year at the G ? Guess well find out. Its the one bad thing i have with the draw that some teams can not play each other twice, it would put a lot of this to bed. If WC beat us again, then yes i would agree with you Yippy but considering we won our last two encounters, was the WC down to us coming off the bye...we will never know :)

I could argue richmond got wce at the right time, 3rd game in 12 days after travelling twice, and failed to capitalize despite being rested.

A win is a win, and the bulldogs and west coast both beat you on your home turf, and as far as current squads go, richmond have not proven they have the capacity to dismantle either team.

Don't worry all will be answered in the next 6 weeks or so. Everything is up for grabs right now. Someone will be able to come back here with a gloating bump ;)

The words "at our best" sum it up. The Tigers worst is terrible. Unfortunately, in finals football, a team's worst tends to be more important than their best.
