I thought someone might mention that. It's true but I'd consider JJ better value overall. It doesn't matter though TT is the complete package and seems much more liked among the team also.

Sorry, you get a lot right. But I reckon you’ve got this one wrong. JJ had a far better career and was more damaging IMO. Tippet was massively overrated. JJ actually got the job done?

Not even close. Tippett was a far better player. Kurt's 2009 season is significantly better than anything Jenkins ever did.

Tippett was an excellent mark, very hard to stop, a genuine goal kicker and a great ruck. He was a weapon for us, from just his second season.

Jenkins was a crumber and kicked lots of goals but was bad under pressure, couldn't pack mark and was a terrible ruck

Ppl forget how good a pack mark he was

Edit- that Hawks final where Buddy got a free for putting Rutten in a headlock- Tippett was massive

His work rate is enormous.

He’s at so many contests.

There was one this week where he went up with Murray in the back line - Murray took the mark. Murray goes back takes his 6 seconds and thumps it down the wing … Thilthorpe marks it.

He’s a smart skilled big man that works his bum off. Tick tick tick. (I suppose someone will put a BOOM in there)

And Tippett stood up in finals for us.

I think you've been tunnel vision by Tippett's career at Sydney, he started very well and was the best ruck/forward in the AFL, had a serious of injuries and gave up the game early with a very very very healthy bank balance.

Yep, he played a bit of Ruck. 1 CBA but 11 Ruck contests around the ground. Chiefly on the wing whilst RoB went down back.

Interesting heat map.

Biggest point of difference he has over McDonald and why he was selected over McDonald, he can play forward and kick a bag and also play around the ground like a 5th midfielder who can take that important contested mark from kick in. That contested mark and immediate centre kick of one step.....wow.

That’s the one I was thinking of too. Off balance, across the body off 1 step. It was a fast decision and great kick.

He can crumb a dropped mark, even his own, and kick a goal

Not much he can't do well.

Thilthy plays the first two games, we win both those games.

Ok maybe not Richmond, but we would have beaten GWS.

Tippett was never quite the same after that run of concussions he had late in his time with us.

I thought jenkins was great for a player we got off Essendon's rookie list

That was his best game for us. Kicked 4 goals iirc and marked everything that came near him. He was a quality player and I was surprised how lacklustre he was at Sydney.

How I long for a player again like him that can take those clunking pack marks.

Adding a special couple of :oops::drunk: for Sanders - probably the other Bf-er who had similar sustained disdain for JJ's football over the journey. Just such a lazy son of a beach. Nice fella though.

Even at Sydney when he played he was good. In a year they were reigning premiers he missed the first half of the season through suspension and still ended up winning their goal kicking for the year. Hugely talented player that gets talked down cause we don’t like him.

Agree, then he sustain a lot of injuries after that and gave away the game early.
