Like I said, playing a majority of games in the SANFL last year and not being selected in Round 1 this year might have changed his application. All down to that week one selection. Dude basically didn't want to play football until that.

But it wasn’t my point though. Read it again. I’m not comparing JJ to Franklin directly. That would be fuc&n stupid. Which I am not. I was using Franklin to make the point that you dont have to be good at everything to be an effective forward. of course Franklin was more effective than JJ. But even the best players aren’t great at everything. It was a point so ridiculous its amazing you expressed it.
There wasn't a SANFL game that week, he played in a preseason match against Glenelg and Nicks mentioned Thilthorpe was selected as they saw something change when he trained that week, unless you got insider information this didn't happened? The magic curative powers of a week in the SANFL. It will change your entire life perspective. You will go from being indifferent about your life long career path to dominating AFL level because of it. The miracle at work.
I didn't say he was soft.Oh yeah totally. It failed for an entire year because he was still lazy and soft in week one, but then it miraculously worked.
It couldn't be that the entire thing was stupid and pointless, that he was always extremely talented but would need time to develop and would best do that at AFL level, and that the slurs that people keep directing at young players every time we don't select them are entirely figments of their demented 'club-defence as the priority even if it means pouring a bucket of s**t over our best prospects' imaginations, could it?

Application, hence he was able to play very well in a different role against Fremantle compared to Port PowerJust lazy and basically didnt give a s**t about trying?
So you do have insider information, please spill them lol.Coach pretends obvious mistake actually masterstroke. Rube buys it.
I bet he can't wait for his retirement plan: selling you the harbour bridge.
I thought jenkins was great for a player we got off Essendon's rookie list

And clearly the lesson that Nicks wanted to teach Thilthorpe worked and we all know this wasn't due to his talent and ability but application I guess.
Agree, Thilthorpe by a mile if they both applied the same application.I've got sources that gave me this high quality insider information: the guy we selected at pick 2 is probably a better prospect than Himmelberg.
The last I say anything about JJ v Tippett other than it’s so this board to jump on someone for even implying that JJ can’t be compared to Tippett despite averaging more goals per game over his career. It’s symptomatic of a supporter base that loves to jump on players until they are driven away. No wonder so many ex players talk about how crappy it is playing footy in SA. We are ruthless. To our detriment.
Also he's only 20Don’t think so - confidence, over thinking the game instead of just attacking the ball
TT works his backside off to be good - that hasn’t been in question

Thilthorpe too hard on himself - a bit like Rachele and JHF - and not aggressive enough. Nothing to do with work rate

Luckily Rahily and Nicks are the coach so they were able to identified what Thilthorpe needed to work on and you aren't.Oh right, Riley wouldn't apply himself. That was the problem. Bit of a no hoper?
Thank god for the divine intervention of Coach Nicks's tough love.

Worked for Fog too...Oh right, Riley wouldn't apply himself. That was the problem. Bit of a no hoper?
