Rising Star - who's left?

I wonder if Dalziell might be kept in reserve by the powers that be as he will still be eligible to win next season. Half a dozen games probably won't see him winning the thing this year and he should be a safe bet for an early season nomination and serious consideration to win the whole thing next year.

1 - Can be nominated in more than one season.

2 - Certainly won't be eligible next season after it being such a grey area this season.

Ok, so how has Nathan Brown been 'better' than Alipate Carlile.

Never said he was, I just dont like your analytics. Brown has been under more pressure than Carlisle in the one-on ones, so comparing stats between a bottom team and a top eight team is pointless. Port and Collingwood play different styles and have different defensive styles, so opposition teams will attack them differently.

Is Daniel Cross better then Luke Hodge because he dominates him in most stats?
Err, no, they are midfielders which makes it a little more complicated with stats, doesn't it. You need to take into account clearances, efficiency, contested/uncontested etc.

But with KPP's it's a little more clear cut, isn't it.

A full back - we'll you'd expect him to prevent his direct opponent from scoring goals. Provide rebound when possible, but priority 1 is preventing opponent from scoring goals.

So?

Brown's done other work up the ground that provides additional worth.

I'm not saying one is more deserving then the other, but basing it on statistics is crap.
Well if it wasn't based on stats, Carlile would've had one a long time ago.

Just a pity he doesn't get 35 bitch kicks a game, or play for Collingwood/Carlton.

Suck it up and stop whimpering that defenders, particularly dour ones, don't get recognition. It's been that way for years, it's dumb but quite frankly, the game's won in the middle.

Agree with those who say Carlile. He's been our best defender all year, but when you're team is tanking and the opposition delivery is without pressure, it's hard to be a defender.

He had it in the bag against Carlton when they came back in the last quarter, but Kruezer got it because of the comeback. He held Fev to two goals that day, one of those a cheap and easy goal after the siren.
