they look old and slow and small to me

Don’t know how they stop Harry and Charlie

negate their dangerous half forwards and this should be a comfortable win
Agree completely, is Vlaustin going to be able to outsprint and jump Harry.. Grimes wont be able to keep up with Charlie..

The richmond forwards look short as well, might allow Young to go into the Ruck instead of Silvagni when TDK needs a spell.

The problem with Ed as a tagger is that he was always fair - a tagger who is a nice bloke - hmmmm I have never seen him do a dirty deed in his whole career - and some opposition deserve some nasty back - not an enforcer and not mean enough to even hurt blokes within the rules. It is a missing link in the midfield - perhaps somewhat made up for by some genuine big lads - big enough to make you feel it within the rules- but Carlton hasn't had the nasties and I am thirsty for some.

In the forward line - I would love to have someone with the size to back up some physicality as displayed by Motlop /Durdin and Honey. For every flop from Harry I'd prefer a calculated "I am not marking in this contest I am kneeing someone out of the game -because they decided to sit in front of me"

Down back I saw some evidence from Young of some mongrel - need much more - Weitering is a sneaky hard arse- buyt if he decides to put someone out for the game like he tried with DeGoey - be smarter how you try and hip and shoulder- - dont use the pointy end of your shoulder FFS.

My call is early and consistent - Fisher and Owies have to hit the scoreboard - the defensive pressure is a non negotiable base line - kicking goals is what scares opposition - same for the 100 gamer today .

If Carlton allows Richmond to chest puff and play the so called 'play on the edge' with no credible response- that is a loss for us and a repetition of round 2 last year.

I can understand why Vossy went for Hollands and Cowan - he has another in Honey who should be encouraged to go in as hard as he likes - I hope he gets the sub gig.

It's a fact that it's WAY safer and easier to drop into the hole in front of Harry McKay than it is to do it in front of Tom Lynch. We need to be a lot meaner.

He will pop up and kick 2 - 3 goals at some stage, always does but does SFA for the rest of the game.
I'm not even convinced he has that in him anymore. Wouldn't surprise me in the slightest to see him go goalless tonight.

Either that or get a cheapie over the back at some point.

Tigers line-up looks strong

I think it looks strong on paper.

But Pickett/Broad/Miller/Graham not playing the pre-season games, hopefully underdone (particularly Graham) or at least out of touch.

Short/Prestia injury scares last game (they seem fine but who knows)

Mansell playing as a defensive forward (instead of Cumberland who is a much better offensive threat)

Enough worries for them (throw in Lynch returning from injury recently too) that it could be they've got too many not in peak form.

And each will get the fingerpoint, just iced the game, treatment.

Grimes, Balta, Miller…and you reckon they’ll play their best interceptor Vlastuin on Harry?

I think not.

I seem to recall the reigning premiers having this spoken about them. Don't underestimate our oppo.

Ed might sit on Prestia or Taranto if they start to get off the chain.

Would love him to sit on Cotchin.

Not expecting Cotchin to get off the chain. Just think he deserves to be sat on by Ed...

Do Tigs have one of the most annoying fwd lines... Lynch, Riewodlt, Bolton... they need a few Cotchin elbows and Lynch knees...
Warming into the POTY crown and robes nicely......

Jsos as the chopout ruck against Nank and Sampson? Tough ask

Saad might get a cooler/tagger, Doc, Gov, Cowan then need to be the outlets

Samson Ryan was named as an emergency. Miller or Balta will be their second ruck which is a bit more manageable for SOS. IMO the ruck issue will be can TDK match Nankervis.

Nowhere near as bad as it used to be. Nor anywhere near as bad as many make out.

Has learnt his limitations and now mostly manages neat, safe kicks IMO.

Still prone to banging it on the boot from the bottom of a pack, but that is somewhat excused if/when he is in there getting his hands dirty...
