I'd take that if Gibbs gets wiped.

Loving Woods efforts but maybe we should go in a little shorter and quicker for this game.
Watching Wood late in the 3rd quarter & early in the last, he was dead on his feet & could barely jump. Although I suggested no changes in my preview, I wouldn't be surprised if Wood is rested for this one (I know we have just come off the bye however Wood has had a massive workload so far this season).

Trengoves has 2 things that Gibb's didnt:
- the sling was a secondary motion after the ball was stripped
- Trengove had pulled Dangerfields arm behind his body

Gray still had the ball all the way through, and Gibbs held his arms in front of him. To me that's not a "sling" and he didn't intentionally drive his head towards the ground.
John Barker summed it up best when he said there was probably half a dozen similar tackles during the game to the one on Gray. The only difference with this one is that Gray was knocked out.

Your explanation describes it perfectly.

Hinkley has done Gibbs a solid in the Herald today. Said that Gray passed the concussion test they just didn't want to risk him.

Walker is one of my favourite players, but he has been shit...can keep carrying players. The Port match should be our benchmark moving forward.

Out Walker
In Jamo

We have to remember that Walker's knee has not been right in the past three seasons......and it may be unlikely to get better.

It may be best for Walker to have whatever surgery is required now and hope to get him back in proper shape next year..........if that is at all possible.

Putting him as the sub ballsy and a great decision.

We can't keep masquerading players ability with injury. Once you cross that white line its game on. He's just having a terrible season and should be played in the 2s until he lifts.

White should keep his spot.

Not sure why people are dropping Walker? He came on with 10-15 mins to go. Hard to do anything significant in that time.

I also think Gibbs is in trouble. He shouldn't be but I think he'll go for that.
How????
Grey had the opportunity to protect himself as he came around with the Gibbs tackle, Gibba had one arm pinned not two, Grey's decision to firmly clasp the ball and not protect himself from the impact of the turf is why he ended up knocked out, that's not Gibbs fault, I would of agreed with you had Bryce had both arms pinned.

I don't personally think he should go. I just expect that they'll give him weeks for it.

Well seeing the trial by media this morning on the footy shows, they are certainly pushing hard for it, and they usually get there way if the tears run deep enough.

I don't think any of those factors apply to Gibbs' tackle. I'd be very disappointed if he misses a week.

I would but not too much if we do inject in another young player for him.
Would love to see something like the following team being competitive by years end.

Simpson Jamison Jaksch
Docherty Rowe Tuohy
Yarran Cripps Boekhorst
Everitt Henderson Bell
Graham Casboult Menzel

Kreuzer Gibbs Murphy

Buckley Curnow Holman Byrne ............with Whiley Sheehan and DVR all good to go.

No offense to those left out but something like this may (may) be a good platform leading into 2016

Someone has to make room for Whiley/Boekhorst/Holman if we're going to reward performances in the VFL.

So it's a question of which of the players in the 21 you'd omit ahead of him...

3 changes for mine ,
IN : Jamison Whiley Boekhorst
OUT : Wood Walker Carrazzo

Jamison is still our premier defender and has gotten through a return game for Preston .
Wood struggling a bit after filling in admirably , Kruezer now ready to resume his mantle backed up by Casboult .
Walker looks cooked and the game waits for no man , Carrazzo makes way for roughly the same reasons .
Reports have Boekhorst and Whiley stepping up at Preston so they come in to further build on our youth driven improvement .

Buckley Jamison White
Docherty Rowe Touhy
Murphy Cripps Simpson
Bell Henderson Yarran
Menzel Casboult Everitt

Kruezer Gibbs Curnow

Graham Armfield Whiley SUB : Boekhorst
