Jamo free to play, not sure if that's a good or bad thing. Will Hendo play up forward again?

Hendo has to play forward. He looked good in the few minutes he was there on Friday night. Leave Jamo and Watson as FB/CHB. Semi radical move, but have Gibbs play CHF.

I'd almost be serious about using Garlett in the Ruck this week... just tell him not to jump and just try to shark Minsons tapouts instead... giving us an extra mid in the contest. We can't do much worse than having Kreuzer hobbling around... else if Kreuzer is out... might as well just risk Bower or Thornton in the crash and bash role as we all suspect they won't be with us much longer anyway.

Collins kicking goals would be a nice bonus but I thought he was actually playing more up the ground and getting the ball quite nicely.

He may well be but (and I'm not having a go at you here) we just got smashed with a leaky defence and an inability to kick a score. I thought bolstering both ends might help us out for the next game.

And one thing that shits me is hearing stories of the coach not liking this guy or that guy. If it's true, grow up and put personal prejudices aside.

If there are blokes ready to go that could make a difference to the result play them and for those who say this or that bloke isn't the future, I don't give a rats arse about the future right now, I just want to win the next game of footy.

Ratten has Garlett in 2 plays of the day from Friday.
Think there may be a vote of confidence right there.

He did kick a great goal in junk time and maybe it could be the start of something. Definitely a straw worth clutching and reckon Ratts has grabbed it with both hands given our need for goal kickers.

Can't lift his arms above his head.

Vote Bootsma for ruck this week.

Actually predicting if Kreuzer is out that Thornton will be given first ruck job. Will also be given specific instructions---when the ball is bounced a number will be called out and it's his job to put it down the throat of the player wearing that number.

When, as confidently expected, he fails that will show dickheads like me, who have been calling for his inclusion, once and for all that he does not play to reasonable instructions and should return to the 2's, never to be mentioned again.

If, against all odds, he succeeds he will be replaced by Warnock next week and Thornton can then take Judd's spot, eventually we'll find a way to banish him.

For mine I think there are two scenarios, the generic Carlton response:
In - Ellard, Touhy, Thornton
Out - Judd, AJ, Walker

or the all on the line response, make our stars work for there spots whilst getting games into youngsters.
In - Ellard, Touhy, Mitchell, Casboult, Buckley
Out - Judd, AJ, Walker, Kreuzer, Lucas/Garlett

Honestly, I prefer the second option but I wouldn't want Kreuzer out. I think a Kreuzer/Casboult combination could be what we need right now.

How ridiculous has this got if Kreuzer's out too. 3 ruckman and all out. Can see why we re-signed Warnock.

Anyway, means Mitchell and Casboult both might have to play changing ruck and FF/FP. Waite's apparently back this week supposedly in the VFL (believe it when I see it). Play him in the AFL playing across HF next to Hendo. Those guys come straight in. Waite is a running type that'd be suited on the HFF.

Waite, Henderson, Gibbs
Someone to replace Garlett, Mitchell/Casboult, Betts.

If Waite isn't playing then....

Collins, Henderson, Gibbs
Mitchell/Casboult, Thornton , Betts.

At least Mitchell and Casboult come in but without the pressure to boot alot of goals given they'll be doing alot of rucking and running around. Might be good for them. Won't get alot of choice.

Alright... Getting sick of this, our defense is too weak and seemingly allergic to their men, forward line is much too short, and midfield is too soft. Also I'm bored while this experiment runs. So let's see how this looks, assuming Judd, Joseph both out, Jamison and Kreuzer cleared:
B: McInness Jamison Armfield
HB: Yarran Watson Duigan
C: Lucas Murphy Bell
R: Kreuzer Carrazzo Robinson
HF: Gibbs Henderson Collins
F: Casboult Mitchell Betts
I: McLean O'Keeffe Touhy (Scotland)

Out: Judd Joseph Garlett Walker Curnow
In: Bell Casboult Mitchell Touhy O'Keeffe

I know it seems stupid and illogical, and that's partly because it is (what do you expect at this time??), but here's my reasoning.
Backs are fairly straightforward, only I want Armfield back there to take the small forward. He is our best at it by far, and while he is good in the midfield, it is not good for us, while defence is the most important thing. I did consider bringing in White here, but I think we are OK for the moment. Duigan must stay back.

Mids, we need to put the challenge to Lucas, tell him to run until he spews. Bell comes in to do awesome stuff. O'Keeffe and McLean will obviously be on the ball but I want Touhy there as well, with Armfield back he should be covered, and I think he is perfect in there, I think a lack of pace around the ball has led to other midfields breaking away from backs or running through congestion too easily, and Touhy has pace and aggression; I want to know if he can do it.

I went a little crazy in the forward line, but I think our plan backfires. The small forward line is based on locking it is, but you can't do that if they are marking overhead. I figure since we aren't stopping rebound at all; while that is a tall forward line, it couldn't possibly be worse at that task. Casboult backs Kreuzer up in the ruck, both of them there give the option of sending Henderson back if needed, or subbing a tall out late in the game for run.

I think it is actually a better structure, and we get to see the young'uns go at it. That at least would make our inability to play football more enjoyable to watch. Just what I would see, and yes, I realise they are not ready and it is stupid.

Why would Scotland be the sub??

B: McInness, Jamison, Duigan
HB: Yarran, Watson, Bootsma
C: Gibbs, McLean, Scotland
HF: Garlett, Henderson, Murphy
F: Betts, Mitchell/Casboult, Kreuzer
R: Warnock, Robinson, Carrazzo

I/C: Armfield, Lucas, Collins
Sub: Touhy

In: Mitchell/Casboult, Bootsma, Touhy, Warnock
Out: Joseph, Judd, Curnow, Walker

My team is all about moving forward. Get games into the young forwards NOW! No point waiting any longer.
