Probably did it kicking someone in the head
GEELONG star Steve Johnson is in doubt for Friday night's clash with Carlton after being hit by soreness in his right foot.
The 31-year-old was sighted on crutches at Simonds Stadium on Tuesday morning.
He headed off to have scans on his foot a short time later.
"Stevie came off the track today with a bit of foot soreness from the game (against Fremantle)," club physio Mark Young told CatsTV.
"We're going to send him for some scans and then pending those results we’ll make a scan later in the week."
Good point. Great to think that we are really starting to get some great users of the footy at the club.Thomas, Simpson and Docherty gives us good rebound though.
At the ground I liked Ellard's game and don't think he'll get dropped. Had far and away the most tackles and his contested work was good. Disposal is off though.
Bring back Joseph. It would be handy if we had Bucks fit to replace Yazz.
We have these two players called Lucas and Garlett who can run, but are on the outer. We still have run but I think they might be too occupied looking after Motlop, Christensen, Murdoch etc to be too attacking. Yazz is a huge out.

Christensen is more in and under than an outside player who can't win the ball. Guthrie would be quicker.
I ****ing hope not! I like a few others over at the Cat's board would prefer to see Bews in down back (we struggle with small forwards A LOT) and move Kelly to the midfield. Actually, I really wanna see Jansen get a go but that's not gonna happen.Wonder if Smedts will come in for Johnson?
So apparently Yarran is a chance to get up for Friday night. Interesting!
One word:Very unusual as it's the calf. Surely the club wouldn't risk him when there is absolutely no need to.
Think of him as a forward. Smedts suddenly looked a million dollars last year after Davies pulled a hamstring and Gibbs took over. Kicked two in a 16 point win.Smedts please. Look what Menz did to him in that third quarter last time. Got us into the game.
We don't have any small forwards. Gone from three to zero in a year.I ******* hope not! Six day break might hurt Yarran. Missed the following game after tearing it against WC.So apparently Yarran is a chance to get up for Friday night. Interesting!
That was a hammy. This is a half grade calf strain that only made Waite miss one VFL game after injuring it on the Thursday before the Sunday game.Think of him as a forward. Whilst Curnow and Wood are 'upgrades' on form, that's 4 x definite best 22 players (5 x when Garlett is in form) that we're missing v a bogey team of ours... so yeah not 100% confident.
.
What defines a 'bogey team' really? I'd say not beating them in the last 12 matches would go close. I do agree that we've been competitive in many of the recent matches and just need that little extra mental focus to break through... and not to say I'm whinging about those calls - first I've even thought about it since the day after that game... Yes we should've/could've stopped those two goals but those calls just stand out as two of the worst of recent memory (probably because of the timing/circumstances of when they occured).the stats will agree, but when i cast my mind back to our matches vs geelong i really don't feel like they're a bogey team at all.
those decisions were incorrect but we don't wanna be known as the supporters constantly complaining about bad decisions alla freo this week. both geelongs last 2 goals could have been prevented. horlin-smiths was terrible defending when both our players go drawn into the contest and no one stayed down. selwoods was great individual skill but a midfielder shouldn't be able to burst away from a pack that cleanly with 1 min to go unless someone missed their assignment.
We've been really competitive against the Cats since Mick took over. Waite or Casboult (or both) need to kick a fair few between them, and I think we're going to need vintage performances from Judd, Gibbs, Murphy and Simpson. Stevie J out would probably mean Curnow to Selwood which is an interesting proposition. Also think Curnow could go to Duncan, he's a seriously good and probably underrated player.
Wonder if Cripps can come in for McLean, and if Yarran could get up that would be a huge help. Could run him on Motlop, however he may be a vest candidate. Also wonder if Blaine can sneak in, you need a lot of firepower to beat the cats.
Also curious to see if Rowe goes to Hawkins for a chance at redemption, he deserves a crack considering his form in the last month.
