I don't necesssarily agree with the changes. Weitering and Marchbank have had no football at all. I wanted Weitering back, but Marchbank isn't significantly better than Kemp in order to come back in with no footy behind him.

Cuningham's injury may have saved him being dropped. I had him as sub in my team.

Really starting to wonder what is happening with Motlop now. A toe injury isn't it, or is it? His absence saves Durdin or Fantasia, one of whom would have surely made way.

I'm not feeling great about Durdin to be honest. I like his speed, but he just does not do enough. 2 disposals, and 2 pressure acts in that tight last quarter against Richmond ... just doesn't cut it. He was fresh. He should have had an impact. I realise that a lot of posters like him and see him as being important, but we have depth now and players need to produce. If the sub call comes down to Durdin or Fantasia, I'd pick Durdin. Fantasia can at least link up from the midfield to the forward 50.

I knew Elijah would come in. The club loved him in the practice games. Missing two games suspended doesn't require VFL games. You'd rather that than missing two games injured. Now, I just hope Ollie and Elijah continue to play the percentages and don't go looking for each other.

Following the Club’s main training session on Wednesday, both Cuningham (calf) and Jesse Motlop (hamstring) were ruled out of selection. Kemp and Young have both been omitted.

Seems Motlop has injured his hammy at training

I no longer trust injury reports. I've been ruined.

I’m a bit surprised that Hollands is straight in. It’s pleasing that he must have put in the work over the off season.
Voss had some glowing words for him re: his preseason so was little doubt he would be straight into the team. Fills a very valuable hole in that half forward / midfield hybrid type.

Don’t have a big issue with Kemp getting dropped; his brain fades last week were poor. He’ll get other opportunities throughout the year.

Surprised you lasted this long tbh - our injury reports have notoriously been unreliable

On any topic, I trust until I've been given reason not to trust.

It’s an interesting call dropping Kemp and bringing in Marchbank straight away without a game

We are 2-0, Kemp has been solid and Marchbank is coming back from an illness and hasn’t played any games

Shows how much Voss rates Marchbank
Clearly worried about Nths height with two ruckman plus Larkey. I feel Young should've been rewarded for his performances so far. Selection integrity in question by bringing in a player with zero match fitness is bewildering.

Imo we will miss cuners zip and speed/pressure in our forward half.
I think we will need to keep fantasia in the team now(not sub) as he has that speed in and around the forward half.
Will need to keep a close eye on the forward mix and make sure that’s right more than not.

I would have kept Cuners in the team if fit but I think Hollands essentially replaces his role anyway. Sub is an interesting one - expect them to probably go Durdin again but I'm not confident whatsoever if thats what they'll end up doing

I don’t get you (often) Jim. You’re writing (totally) as if Kemp is a star and Boyd is a horrendous selection (instead of Kemp). Whether you like it or not there ARE arguments for Boyd over Kemp. There are arguments for Kemp over Boyd. I would argue Kemp shows zero aptitude for being able to launch by foot from the backline. There’s nothing to work with there with his kicking. He IS a good intercept mark but I think that’s often a raffle/gamble that I wouldn’t like him taking.

My point is I’m not sure anyone can really be justified being passionate in favour of Kemp over anyone. Make an argument sure. Be incredulous? Really?

I think he came back similarly last year and did ok.

PS I have a new look. Get used to it
